Can anybody recommend an insurance company that will provide life insurance for a person who doesn't have their GC yet?

I don't mind having a health exam, or waiting a few weeks to get approved.

My husband currently has USAA life insurance, but they told him he cannot add me as a beneficiary because I am not an LPR yet. I have a SSN, and a valid US driver's license, but they still said that I need to have a GC.

I have life insurance that is connected to my int'l student health insurance, but I cannot list him as the beneficiary because I was only eligible for the plan that only pays for me to be shipped back home if I die. We tried calling several insurance companies, but they said they can't add me until I get approved for a GC.

We have other financial documents to show commingling of resources, so I don't need the insurance for the AOS, I just want to make sure that if one of us dies, the other one will be able to take care of the funeral expenses.
