Interview in Manila

Steve,

We had our interview October 1 and received the visa Ocyober 3, 2009. The normal policy of the embassy is to use Air21/FedEx to ship the visa to you. Air21 requires your wife to sign for the visa. If your wife is in Manila or the immediate Manila area - it is usually 2-3 days. If she lives in the province it can take up to 10 days to arrive. Your wife can call Air21 to track the package.

Your wife should ask permission to pick up the visa from the consular officer who does her final interview. The consukar officer has the authority to allow her to pick the visa up at the embassy. Sometimes they allow you to pickup the visa but not always.

We wish you the best.

I hope they let her pick it up at the embassey because she lives very far from manila and is not going back after interview she will just stay in manila until she gets the visa and fly out from manila. I had read a few people say they received visa before leaving the interview--I was hoping that was the case.

Thanks much

Steve

Our time line for CR1 visa took only 5 months and 1 week or 156 days; from the filing the I-130 on the 03-12-2009 to Approval of NOA2 on the 05/13/2009, then Interview on the 08/18/2009 at Manila, Philippines. We had a daughter on the 11-12-2010 named AISHA JOY means HAPPY LIFE.a1_opt-1.jpga2_opt-1.jpga3_opt-1.jpg
