thanks suzy and nagi. i have come a long way in the emotional department. i think i hit several stages including rock bottom. now we are just mellow

I noticed this is true....there are a few stages emotionally that people go through. The highs, the lows, the mellows, and so on.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Ya...I'll yell it like HermanaNA "GET OFF MY LAWN!"

And like Comrade Dean when he was drinking cognac and hollering at the trick or treaters.

:wow::rofl: I missed hearing about that!

yeah, it has been a true roller coaster. now when i shed tears, it is only because i miss him. it is hard having a relationship over the phone. but when we are together, it is like i never left.

but i also tend to hide it from other people. only my best friend, mom, and one of my sisters actually know what went on, and of course my husband. even then, i don't think any of them really knew the sleepless nights, the no eating for days. i never wanted them to worry. and it is hard to put into words what we go through with immigration. everyone tells me, i shouldn't get depressed. i shouldn't let things bother me. i want to say what do you know about it. have you ever been through it? but i just nod and say thank you.

Dean was drunk yelling at trick or treaters!?!? :ranting:

The whole thing that kept me sane during the visa process was my kids. I wasn't (and never am) alone and I was always busy with them. Luis worked a gazillion hours a week while he was in Peru too, so we didn't have much time to despair.

The only time I thought I was going to have a heart attack was when we were in Peru and we went to pick up his passport with the visa in it from DHL and they DIDN'T HAVE IT! This was on a Friday and our flight was the following Tuesday. They still didn't have it on Monday so we went down to the embassy and I cried like a fool and turns out DHL never picked it up, so they delivered it to us right there and we made our flight.

Then we got stuck in Miami in immigration because they were deporting people and we had to wait and wait, we missed our connecting flight but I didn't care :)

K ~ I tend to keep things from others too, but it's hard. And if they really know you, they know something's wrong. The best thing is having family that cares about you :star:

Your hubby's going to have his visa soon, and then in a couple of months you'll be complaining to us how he leaves the toilet seat up and does other manly annoying things :hehe: I found that going through a stressful process like the whole LDR and visa thing actually makes your relationship that much stronger.

you are definitely right, sister. we have grown so close. he can immediately tell something is wrong with me from just my hello. no matter how much i try to hide it from him too. i hate making him sad. it just makes me feel like crying even more.

 this has definitely been an adventure to tell our grandkids about, if we ever do have any kids, lol. i am 30 and he is 31. and told him that if we do not have any by the time i am 35, he can forget it. i have this one boy who is 19 like my nephew, who told me he is already our adopted son, lol.

Let's just put it this way...I am actually going to relax this holiday season :D

my husband and I are trying to whip up a lil marriage ceremony for my friends and family.

Something small and very private...just commerative.

We are thinking of doing it New Year's Eve. Just toying around with it right now.
