well I wasn't going to do anything so I could pay for surgery but since I got my good news this morning I'm going snowboarding in Vail :)

The test results are in....left kidney is functioning at 18% and is full of stones so some decisions have to be made for it's removal. The right kidney is functioning at 82 %. Im only responding to antibiotics given through IV's and the doctor is going to talk to a specialist to see what can be done about the antibiotic TX. :dead:

82% sounds pretty damn good to me. :thumbs: It's not 90+% but as long as you keep it up for 30 years or so, you're OK. Left kidney at 18% means it's in renal failure (as opposed to what, cardiac failure :lol: ), it's probably full of sclerotic tissue (scars) so it can't filter worth a damn. I would be concerned why you keep having stone formation. Chronic UTIs can predispose one to renal calculi but they are mostly idiopathic. If the left kidney is becoming a chronic problem or if you'd like to see it in a jar on your desk, I'd seriously consider removing it.
