BTW nOOb...I'm originally a Southern Boy and love Sutherneers...grew up in TX, then GA...then 10 years in Detroit almost killed me (sorry Nagi!)...now I'm in neutral country (near DC) finally found the right spot to live!

I did some work in South Carolina once, and stayed there for 6 months..I was in Greenville and I loved it there...

I'm a from NY. I just started my life in the land of cotton and sweet tea about 6 months ago.

And it pronounced "Greenvull".

For some reason I had the impression that you were only about 13.

nOObc - sweet tea is good for the soul...just make sure that it is sweet enough...50% sugar 50% tea...and then drink it by the gallon...you'll soon love the South.

i hear ya, bishop. i started working at 5 am these days, just to get off at 1:30pm. my mom wonders why, since i still need to take my daily nap. maybe when the husband gets here, i will be able to go to bed at a decent hour instead of having to wait to talk to him. i hate missing his calls. the only time we get to "spend" time together is over the phone.

speaking of which, guess who just called.

Honestly, Ppl do drink sweet tea here by the gallon. I'm surprised there isn't a higher incidence of diabetes here. They even have a sweet tea flavored vodka in SC. Zhanna thought this was Blasphemy.

I usually have fun at weddings but this is third wedding I'm in since Oct 10! I don't want ANOTHER wedding! After today I'm safe until April.

Otherwise, weddings are fun. Free booze, dancing and partying... it's fun

Chris ~ screw the sweet tea, I want a Long Island iced tea Well, in about 5 months I will. I lived in Atlanta for a little while, and although I thought the city was beautiful and the rent was dirt cheap, I couldn't get used to it. It was really hard. I do miss Chic-Fil-A and Steak n Shake though. I made a couple of really good friends while I was down there too.

I have decided that although the cost of living up here is ridiculous, that I would rather stay and suffer through the money issues. The schools up here are awesome compared to a lot of the schools down south. Plus if I tried to leave NY with the kids my family would probably go down there and drag me back to NY by my hair.

I hear you. I really feel out of place here in SC it is a really nice place an all. But, my home is NY. Once things settle down and I'm back on my feet with work and Zhanna is here we were thinking of going back to NY. Just because that's where most of my fam and friends live, plus Zhanna is going to have a hard time finding work, she's a journalist and her degrees is in Russian literature. So I was thinking of going back to the city because it is easy for me to find work there and there is a large Russian population in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn so it may be easier to find work and just adjust to life in America.

But for now I'm kinda stuck here until I can start my career and get back on track.

Did you ever go to a Waffle House while you were here?.....Scary.
