Man, oh man, do I miss Skyline. It's reason enough for me to periodically return to OH.

Saw the headline - was expecting a post from Cam.

So disappointed.

PEOPLE: READ THE APPLICATION FORM INSTRUCTIONS!!!! They have a lot of good information in them! Most of the questions I see on VJ are clearly addressed by the form instructions. Give them a read!! If you are unable to understand the form instructions, I highly recommend hiring someone who does to help you with the process. Our process, from K-1 to Citizenship and U.S. Passport is completed. Good luck with your process.

Yep, kind of reminds me of the 5-way I had last week.

Good stuff, Neon. If you're ever back up this way, give me a shout. You too Brandon.

You bet. I'm so addicted to that stuff I even looked into opening a franchise here in Atlanta a few years ago! We got nothing...no gold star, no skyline...nothing! I have to resort to getting 3-ways every now and then in the grocery store but they are nowhere near the same quality (laughs thinking about people who read this without knowing what we're talking about).

http://www.cincyfavorites.com They'll ship just about anywhere.

If you guys are ever in town, let me know. The Skyline by me is open til 4:00 AM. There's a new Gold Star right down the road too. They're open til midnight or so. And finally, for those who don't know - we're talking about Cincinnati-style chili. The way we do it is...

3-way = Chili, Spaghetti, Cheese

4-way = Chili, Spaghetti, Cheese, your choice of Red Beans or Onions

5-way = Chili, Spaghetti, Cheese, Red Beans, Onions

No, there's no 2-way. You can get a 3-way with no cheese or simply just a cup of chili, but either way, it's not a one-way or a two way, it's a 3-way minus something. I highly recommend the Hot Sauce as well as it makes everything better. Nohting like dousing a sodium-filled dinner with more sodium! Mmmmm.

Oh, and if you folks don't know, you have to "plan" when eating Cincinnati-style chili much the same way you'd plan around eating White Castle. Just make sure you have a 30 minute window in there somewhere!

Oh yes, White Castle. I was tempted while I was there but thought that might be pushing my luck a little.

Definitely pushing something if you are traveling.

I've had Skyline for dinner and Whitey's on the way home from being out all night drinking. Let's just say I didn't do much the next day.

Bogart's is still around. They still draw some pretty big names since there's really not a good concert venue in Cincinnati. There are the stadiums and Riverebend Music Center, but since those all kind of suck, Bogart's still hosts the "good" shows.

Whenever I head down short Vine to pick up my LaRosa's pizza, I always see all those crazy kids out there standing in the cold wearing nothing but black T-shirts, black pants, black fingernail polish, etc. I see some pretty sweet mohawks though!

Cool. Glad to know it's still around. I forgot all about LaRosa's too. I really need to get back up to OH soon. I went to Miami U. so my buddies and I should be having our reunion pretty soon. I'm going to load up on the Syline for sure. My brother still lives in Dayton and used to bring me fresh 3-ways, but then the Airlines started confiscating the chili since it was a threat to national security. Granted, it can be sort of deadly once consumed and processed...but that's another story.

for crying out loud, ive been in ohio my whole live and dont know what the skyline is...#######??

It's a chain of restaurants that makes a special kind of chili. It's not like any other chili I've ever come across...it's easy to get addicted to and usually people that like Skyline are fanatical about it. (ie. I've eaten it like 7 days in a row before when I visit OH). Of all the foods I've ever eaten (that's a good amount of food, believe me), it is my absolute favorite.
