i request hotel tips!

grant is taking the greyhound, i'm taking amtrak from nyc

We stayed at the Hyatt (5 minute walk from the Embassy) and got the room on Hotwire for $64 (US)!! LOVED the room and the hotel was amazing. :)

Check our beddingbidding.com and that site will help you determine the hotel and current rates for the night you're looking at through either Priceline or Hotwire. We did our honeymoon hotel through Priceline and got a hotel for $100/night while the rate on the hotel's wrbsite was over $200/night.

So, you can get some GREAT deals that way! Now that I know how to work the PL/HW system, I'll keep going back!

Best of luck! :)

Hyatt Regency Montreal

1255 Jeanne-Mance, PO Box 130,

Montreal, Quebec, Canada H5B 1E5

this the one? I'M ON IT! thanks!

Ummm... Yep, it is! You're welcome! :)

ok but I went to use priceline and it basically charges your credit card when someone accepts the bid but you don't have a choice of hotel. I'll check out hotwire. The area of bidding is too big on priceline and the cheap hotel could be blocks away : /

Go to betterbidding.com, and you can see their listing of hotels with amenities. Using PL is kind of a puzzle... you have to fingure out what hotel it is by PLs clues, and the info you get from betterbidding.com. That is how I figured out what hotel was which hotel.

If you want more help, lemme know!

My hotel I picked is a bit expensive (but I had a visa gift card so I didn`t really care) and its like right around the corner from the consulate. Its the Le Square Phillips, costing me $141 for the night, but very close and no talk of bed bugs, great reviews as well. I can walk down the street, pick up my Timmies and then walk over to the consulate.

  • Hotel Tips for Montreal

  • Getting Visa Details (aka expresspost envelope, time it takes, other considerations)

I also think, actually, a new thread isn't a bad idea. I'm starting to just refresh Canada forum rather than looking at topic subscription notices in my email. I find that way I'm not reading the same posts twice.. :)

Since Canada only has a handful of consulates, it might make a bit of sense to have individual forums for them, maybe? Then people could file away information in threads there, and the Canada forum could be just general Canada information or whatever.

I dunno, I'm silly about over-organization and stuff like that, lol. Just my two cents worth :D

There may be different consulates, but the process is the same. The only difference really is going to be who is administering it and what hotel you stay at. That information can be covered in the scope of a thread.

I just read trip advisor for la tour centre-ville. Real close to the consulate, but apparently has bed bugs. I won't be staying there.

and only the US Consulate in Montreal does the immigrant visas. The K-visas are done only in the Montreal and Vancouver consulates and the processes are virtually identical - tiny differences only. It makes sense to keep the information all together in one thread.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

I was looking at the Downtown Hilton, anyone ever been to it?

It's cheaper right now on hotwire than the Hyatt.

Well, when you click on a price, on the right it says what hotels can be included in the price.

It's 2 or 3 different ones, but it gives you an idea.
