Got approval letter in mail yesterdat Oct 19th

Question for you:

What do we do for the supposed stamp in the passport?

Hubby needs to travel over Christmas. Can he take the letter with him if the green card hasn't come yet?

Thanks!

Congrats, Patient teacher!

The letter should be sufficient, but if you want the stamp just to be sure then make an infopass appointment, take the flight info and the approval letter and they should stamp it if he hasn't received his green card within 30 days (or whatever your letter said). Many people rather have the stamp - especially if they've been approved and are simply waiting on the gc but have to travel.

Also want to share that my ROC was approved and really fast! I did have to do an early bio (1 week early) because I am traveling tomorrow and will be away of the state during my original schedule appointment. The funny thing is that my approval email came yesterday - before my original bio appointment!

I was going to use the NOA to renew my Driver's License. But now I will wait until the formal approval letter. Who knows, maybe they will send the new card before December? (fingers crossed). That would be HUGE because I am traveling abroad in December. And last time I traveled with only a stamp they sent me to the secondary inspection room at the airport to question why I didn't have my green card (even though I had the stamp on the passport)....

Hi NycBra!

Not sure what state you are in, but if in California, the NOA letter is no longer valid ID to the DMV. I found out the hard way after waiting there for an hour and a half to be told that they completely changed policies the middle of September (2009) and can no longer accept the NOA letters. You must have either your original conditional card (and that must be still be valid for a minimum of 30 days, but keep in mind, they will only issue a driver's license for the same duration that your GC is valid for), or your new 10-year card.

Removal of Conditions.

I-751 Sent - Received by CSC - 9/11/09

Receipt (NOA) Received - 9/18/09

ASC (Biometrics) Appointment Notice Received - 9/23/09 (Appointment Date: 10/16/09)

Biometrics Appointment - 10/16

Email notification of "Card in production" - 10/21 *HOORAY*

Email notification of "Approval notice sent" - 10/26 *More HOORAY*

GC arrived in the mail (along with separate Approval Letter) - 10/26 *Ultimate HOORAY*

Next Step - Citizenship - 09/2012
