its so great that we all found out at once and we're all going through it together lol

Honestly, that is the BEST thing!!! Poprocks and I were in the same boat with Huggles right on our heels by not too much. It is SOOO nice to have the comaraderie especially as you go through this, no one else truly can grasp what all we go through during this process!

LOL... funny thing is, Poprocks and I (actually my husband) are only about 1-2 weeks apart on our AOS approval and Huggles is about 4 weeks behind me. So, in a couple of years time, when we need to go through the removal of conditions, there will be friends going through it all again together! SOOOOO NICE TO HAVE!!!!!

Event Date

ROC

9/24/11 - Mailed I-751 packet to CSC

9/26/11 - NOA1 Receipt Date

9/28/11 - Check cashed

10/1/11 - NOA1 arrived in mail

Wait, there's more than one set of doors?

**Takes quick look at Google StreetView**

Um, so are the "yellow pole" doors down the side of the building along that tiny little street to the north of the main street (whatever it's called)?

Don't want to spend 1/2 hour freezing my butt off outside the wrong set of doors!

Oh, and CONGRATS to everyone!! Wish we had some VJ company for our 10/26 interview. :(

I don't really know how to explain it, but I'll try. I checked the google streetview and it wasn't too helpful. It wouldn't zoom in on rue St-Alexandre. It just shows the closest address on boul. Rene-Levesque, but you can see the consulate there... ah screw it. We need a visual aid! This is the best I could do!

consulate.jpg

I kinda circled the area where the doors are in the above image. Now say you're facing the doors... you'll see a sign above the doors that says "U.S. Consulate", or something like that. Anyway, you want to line up to the left of the doors. So like, you're closer to the steps and the side street than you are to boul. Rene-Levesque. I hope that makes sense.

Oh, and congrats and good luck to everyone with upcoming interviews! You all must be so relieved/excited!

02/19/09 - I-130 mailed out

Thanks Holliday! That's perfect. I sort of figured that was where they were because you can sort of see something yellow down there. But it's nice to know for sure. Not that I'm worried or anything, you understand. Or a control freak.

Hey, in regards to your question about bringing someone, this is what I found under "Interview Preparation" specific to MTL consulate.

Accompanying Persons

The following persons may accompany a visa applicant during his or her visit to the Consulate:

 Interpreters: An applicant may bring one interpreter if he does not speak English well enough to participate unassisted in the visa interview.

 Special Needs Visitors: Applicants may bring one person to help if they are elderly, disabled, or if the applicant is a minor child applying for a visa.

 Attorney: Attorneys will NOT be permitted to accompany clients into the waiting room or at their interviews.

 U.S. Citizens: An applicant may be accompanied by a U.S. Citizen.

Due to the limited size of our waiting room, the high volume of visa applicants, and the time required to screen consular clients, other accompanying persons cannot and will not be admitted to the Consulate. Drivers, friends, extra relatives, and others not specifically named above cannot be permitted to enter and will be asked to return to meet the applicant after the interview is complete.

I have the same situation. My mom is coming with me but she will stay in the hotel while I go do my thang. It wouldve been so much better if I had her with me while waiting.

Anyone know what the deal is with bringing a parent? My dad is going to drive me to Montreal, but is he able to come in and wait with me, or does he have to go and have many coffees at the nearest coffee shop?

PS - Hi November 6th interview buddies!!! It'll be nice to get through the morning together!
