Spoom and I are heading up on the 6th after I get off work, spending the night in Toronto, and driving to Montreal on Saturday. We're friends with another couple up that way (who live about 15 minutes from the consulate) who are graciously letting us stay with them for the weekend. Yay for saving money and seeing friends (I haven't seen either of them since my MOH's wedding 2 years ago).

Depending on the 9th (interview day!) goes for us, I'll either be driving allll the way back to Erie, PA myself that day <_< or staying in Toronto with Spoom again that night. I'm hoping for the latter ;)

Timeline for Spoom

2009-02-14: Engaged!

2009-02-21: Sent I-129F package to VSC

2009-11-09: Interview!! - APPROVED!!!

2009-11-21: POE

2010-01-23: WEDDING!!!

2010-02-19: Sent I-485 (AOS), I-765 (EAD), I-131 (AP) package to Chicago Lockbox

2010-03-01: NOA1

2010-03-16: Transferred to CSC!

2010-03-24: Biometrics in Buffalo

2010-04-21: AOS APPROVED!

2010-04-27: Received I-797 Approval / Welcome to America letter for AOS

We just booked through hotwire. Two nights for $180 at the Delta Montreal. :)

I also decided to rent a car. The train would have cost us $383 for the both of us, and flights were $640 for the both of us.

Sean feels like his car would definately break down so that's why he doesn't want to take it.

I am flying into the Buffalo Airport, and with my USAA membership I can get a rental from the 19-22 for $108 (but I am going with a nicer car that costs $136). That is for unlimited mileage and I called to verify that I can drive the car into Canada, and that if I got into and accident in Canada my insurance would still cover it.

This way we can go sight seeing and not have to rush to make a train or plane!

Yay!!!!

Another small problem, Sean reminded me that he can't drive me to the Buffalo Airport with the Visa in his passport without potentialy being forced to activate it, so the rental car will get me back on my own.

Yeah, mine one piece too. Half is the form I filled out, the other half is a set of checkboxes saying I don't have a London record, and I don't have an RCMP record, signed and sealed.

I kind of expected the results to be a separate piece of paper as well, but it's all good :)

Mine was actually the form I filled out to request the actual certificate, LOL. They just sealed it and signed it saying that they ran my name through a CPIC database and it was all clear.

I paid like $40 for it too!!

Removing Conditions

Sent package to VSC - 8/12/11

NOA1 - 8/16/11

Biometrics - 9/14/11

Wow, I think my fiance and I are going to have to drive to that restaurant.

We're on the other side of the highway.

It's either a 21 minute walk or a 7 minute drive... and I'm kinda iffy about the driving part.
