I called and asked about the letter, and was told it was sent out on Monday (19th) and I will probably receive it this upcoming Monday.

I also confirmed my date (just to be sure, haha).

I replied to an existing email, with the following (and only the case number in the subject line):

Hi,

Is there an interview date for Case Number MTL 2009 XXX XXX K_______ and J_________?

On the waiting list since end of July.

That's it. Which is basically the same email I sent previously and also got a response.

Short and simple. I figure, if it's that short, and they've already opened it, how long will it take to look it up?

I wonder if the letter is coming from the US. I swear to god, it does not take this long to snail mail from TO to Montreal and vice versa. Maybe the letters stopped for some Tims on the way over...

This might be a stupid question, but is there a difference of when you get your interview date depending on if you are K-1 or IR1? Like do they have set priorities or quota's or anything? or is it just mixed bag?

Oh people added themselves in, but didn't format it at all. I just fixed theirs.

Yes, there are quotas. NVC gets them from the consulate in MTL on a monthly basis depending on their capacity. It's a different story for interviews that are scheduled by the consulate themselves.

so is there really a difference on when you would get your interview date at MTL if you were a K-1 vs. being an IR1? I think MTL schedules their own interview, so not sure what that would exactly mean in terms of the quotas.

yeah its odd that you haven't been scheduled when some October ones got dates.....this whole process is the sh!ts. I'm just praying that Montreal is on the ball now and not going to sit on their hands for 4 months or so and then schedule a bunch again. I think I'd lose it.

what's the winter holiday schedule like? how many days should we expect it to delay things by.. sigh this sucks!
