Morning everyone.

So I was talking to my hubby this morning and he told me he's coming down with a cold. His medical appointment is this Thursday, Oct. 22nd. He's wondering if he goes and he's sick, will it affect the results of the medical? Of course I told him I would ask on VJ ;)

He says his throat is starting to get scratchy and that he's a bit congested now. Obviously he's not sure how he'll feel in two days for the medical. Should I have him reschedule??

Thanks for your responses in advance

I may be wrong, so I would take this with the proverbial grain of salt. But isn't the medical screening for potentially harmful diseases? I would think a cold wouldn't keep him out... but maybe I'm being way too logical about this.

If he is sick, that could change his white blood count or something like that which could possibly indicate something more harmful. But my rose colored glasses want to say that it shouldn't matter.....

Now I'm confused! :)

LOL, Laura....you made me laugh! I too, didn't think it was that big of a deal. It was Ahmed that had his undies in a bunch about all the "what if's." Anyhow, I too, am confused. I don't know if he should go or not, sigh......Anyone else have any thoughts on this??

Thx,

Sharifah

I don't think the common cold would be an issue, just go and the worse they could tell him is to come back when he is better. Its better to have tried and get it done with if he can unless he is way to sick to get out of bed.

Hi! I went to my medical today and all they do is ask for vaccine records and takeyour weight and height. They also ask if you smoke and if you have ever been hospitalized and why. The only vaccines I needed were MMR, varicella and HPV. >The doctor said the medical is just to know if the person has any infectious disease like HIV, syphillis, gonorrhea, tuberculosis, etc.

Hey same day as my husband. I dont think it will effect the results of the exam. Just make sure the doctor knows he is coming down with a cold. But if he is full blown sick on exam day, re-schedule for sure!!

Truly happy!!!

You only need to take it again if you are consider at "high risk" for menegitis. Talk to your provider. They can infrom you what's best.
