Ok so we're slow starters 6 years for us. We always knew we'd be together forever ( I knew a few months in, if that), just wasn't in a rush to deal with making it official.

How about you? How far into the relationship did you realize he/she was The One?

I think my heart knew a few months after we first started talking online but it finally sunk into my head when I first saw him in person about 8 months after we first met online .... that is when I knew I didn't want anybody else but him...

oops, forgot to mention that hubby asked me to marry him 3 weeks after we first met in person when he came to visit me up in Canada

4 years total.

2 years spent as friends via phone, e-mail, chat, etc.....and then after meeting face to face,

2 years of long-distance relationship before getting married.

We meet in January 05 (at university in Fresno, CA), we declared our love in February (When I was going to Beverley Hills for the weekend meeting some friends - first time apart since we met ) and then we talked about it and he asked my parents permission in June when they came to visit . We got engaged in July and we are getting married this July!

I was never one to believe in love at first sight and soulmates and especially not in long distance relationships but I was definately proved myself wrong! I'm so lucky to have found the man of my dreams

Met online in September 04 and he proposed April 05 ... I knew he was gonna propose though a few months before that as we had talked about it. I think when it comes to long distance love you have to make a decision pretty early on cause you cant keep travelling back and forth forever. Its a risk you take when you get married to someone who you have only known for a short time but I also feel you know deep down inside whether somebody is right for you.

I agree with ladybutterfly It was an obvious discussion for us because I could only stay in the states till September 05 (I had to return to uni) so I was always leaving it was always something we needed to think about because we were very close from our first date. I know if I hadn't have left we'd still be getting married this year though He would have married me a month after we met I think

We started talking vaguely about a distant future for ourselves within a few months. We got engaged after about a year and a half and married 2 years and a week after we started dating

When we met online randomly, we were just friends talking but day by day I learned more about him and he learned about me, and started falling in love. I'd say probably around 3 months after meeting online I knew this would be who I would want to spend the rest of my life with. He felt the same, but we couldn't meet face to face til almost 2 years later due to several reasons. But thru out that time, we knew we wanted to get married. On that visit we became "officially" engaged and married about a year later. If he hadn't been so far away, with family things he had to deal with, and us not being able to travel much, & the visa process taking awhile, we probably would have gotten married much sooner than 3 years after meeting online! If we could have had it an easier way, we probably would have gotten married about a year and half after meeting online. But looking back, I know the separation built a lot of good in us that will help us in life.
