As I write this our dear friend and fellow VJer Icey ( those who know her, know who I am talking about)....

I pray as she is flying across the Altantic she is is doing well, strong and not so heartbroken.... Y will get the visa SOON inchallah....

May Allah protect and keep her safe on her flight back to the States... amin.

O I miss you!!! And alhamdullah you are my friend J...and I am crying right there with you..Medy and I are.... :crying:

As usual remembered in my prayers...I hope we will soon be welcoming Y also...

But look on the bright side of things...goodbye turkis toliets and bathing from a bucket...hello the English throne and jacuzzi tubs.... :P

I'm so happy for us that Icey will be back on soon, but sad for her cuz we all (or most of us, anyway) know what it's like to leave our loved one at the airport - it SUX! So, I hope the transition is smooth and Yacine will be arriving soon behind you.

Oct 5, 2006 - Interview SUCCESS

Oct 12, 2006 - Called to pick up visa tomorrow!

Oct. 16, 2006 VISA IN HAND!

Dec. 24, 2006 - Said arrives in NOLA, just in time for the holidaze!

Dec. 31, 2006 - OUR WEDDING!!! Ringing in a New Year as husband & wife!

Jan 8, 2007 - applied for SSN

Jan 15, 2007 - recieved SSN

Feb 6, 2007 - checks cashed for AOS/EAD/AP - YAY!

Feb 8, 2007 - NOA1 on AOS/EAD/AP

Feb 14, 07 - touched EAD/AP

March 8, 07 - Biometrics appt in NOLA

April 17, 07 - AP approved

April 19, 07 - EAD approved

Welcome home Icey, Now you can call me for real intead of just beeping me. :lol: Hope you had a smooth trip. I know you will miss Yacine but it is back to the real world, school, work, a dependable internet connection, water, electricity and AIR CONDITIONING 24/7. :thumbs: Inshallah things will pick up and you will get through the rest of you visa journey quickly, so Yacine can come to you.

4/14/08 -----> 10 yr green card in hand

Citizenship Timeline

8/20/08 -------> Mailed N-400 to TSC

8/21/08 -------> N-400 rec'd by TSC @ 10:42 am signed for by C Maxa

8/26/08 -------> Check cashed

8/28/08 -------> Called USCIS was told biometrics scheduled for Sept 12 @ 3 pm

9/02/08 -------> Received NOA 1 showing receipt date as August 22, 2008

9/02/08 -------> Received bio appt by snail mail verifying scheduled date as 9/12 @ 3 pm

9/12/08 -------> Fingerprints taken

12/16/08------> Interview @ 10:05 am [PASSED]; OAth given at 2 pm

***MY HUSBAND IS NOW A USC***

12/29/08 -----> Filed for US passport book and passport card for my husband

01/08/09 -----> Rec'd US passport book in mail today; still waiting for card and return of natz cert

06/15/09 - Citizenship interview

07/15/09 - Citizenship ceremony. Alhamdulilah, the US now has another american muslim!

:dance: Yeaaa our friend is back now....I talked to her last night.... safe and sound after a crazy 2 days of traveling....O man...I donnot envy that....inchallah she is sleeping and resting now...and we will see her back on VJ soon!!! :luv:
