So that I can know whether or not I truly disagree w/ the decision, I went to Charles!' profile to find recent posts by him. His 'personal photo' on his profile says 'Shameless Agitator'.

I'm not sure I need to go much further.

I'm not questioning why it's there per se - I mean, look at my member title! LOL An 'accolade' given to me years ago by a random poster (mainly because I was asking him logical yet rapid-fire immi questions). I claimed it as mine because I found (and still find) it hilarious, esp. as I don't really consider myself as such.

But if I had just been named a mod, I could see where some might read that and wonder if I were indeed the best choice. That said, I would prefer to be judged on my overall contributions to the board instead of a member title.

Scanning your posts, they seem to be 90% in the off topic forum. I'm not sure what Ewok's criteria is for making one a moderator, but if that is one of them, then his decision was spot on.

Moderators should have the ability to help calm heated threads, remain impartial and effectively communicate. Charles is the antithesis of a moderator. He stirs up trouble, he will obviously favor his lackeys and resorts to jpegs for most of his responses.

Ok, I can see why people have a problem with him. I like the guy but I see it. Same reasons people would have a problem with me. Fine.

But what's the big deal with him using jpegs for responses? Why is that a disqualifier for being a mod?

It illustrates his inability to effectively communicate. Moderators need to form complete sentences.

I have removed the posts containing personal attacks. I just want to remind everyone that personal attacks are against Visa Journey's TOS.

Welcome aboard, Charles. I know that the decision is controversial but I too agree that you will be a good Moderator in the Regional Forums.

For those who complained about their posts being removed - there is a way to express your displeasure without resorting to personal insults and attacks. You will notice that those posts that say they object but that don't include personal insults still remain in the thread. Dissension is fine - just take care about how you express it.
