Are you using Verizon here?

Yes.

I've been with them for over 7 years now and they don't want to compete on price and the phones are locked so you have to buy everything from them. They don't seem to add anything, they just keep taking away. The Worry Free Guarantee ain't what it used to be. They nickel and dime you for things they once did gratis. But where I am, they have the best coverage and reliability. Until somebody meets or exceeds that, I'll stay put.

Hey you might joke on Aus but stuff like the ####### US carriers get away with is regulated against there. It's why a $39.95 cell bill there means you pay $39.95 period. No bullshit hidden fees used to make extra on the side. If Capone was around now, he would own a cell carrier, a cable company and a health insurance company.

What I hate about the carriers here is that they do not have any pay per use plan. I don't need 5 zillion minutes. I need a plan like the one I had there, where I committed to paying a minimum of lets say x, in return for better rates and I could use text, data or calls to reach it. Priced per use, with everything income free.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Here there are enough carriers so that there should be competition, but it hasn't panned out that way. The ones that offer all kinds of goodies at friendly prices such as T-Mobile and Metro PCS don't have the coverage that Verion does.

who cares....the service that gives you the lowest rate deserves my business...since tmobile offers me $59/month for a family plan....and tmobile is great service over here....therefore, since companies are in the business to make money, I'd prefer subscribing to cheaper service

Tmobile sucks and kicks rocks! I hope their home service is better than the cell. I am on my FOURTH Samsung Gravity and it absolutely sucks. They automatically shut off for no reason and the $%^&* 's had the nerve to accuse me of wetting one of my phones when the "indicator" was clearly white and I know I wouldn't be eligible for warranty so why would I risk getting it wet? They can go straight to H E double hockey stick!!!:angry::angry:

With all due respect, that is a Samsung product related issue. For any issues I have had with a phone set, T-mobile has replaced it immediately under the 1 year warranty. I got burned on a Blackberry Pearl, after it crapped out; early in year 2.

You may want to consider another phone model, given the apparent poor performance of that product.

Ive TRIED to do that and they are even fighting me about that!!! Saying one of the phones I returned I got it wet, which is far from the truth. Im actually considering taking legal action against them.

We went with MagicJack for a home phone - which we don't use all that much anyway. $20 a year for unlimited calls to the US and Canada. $8.50 a month is cheap - but not as cheap as MagicJack!!

After seeing and learning about this product at a friends house, we signed up yesterday.

With my corporate discount (unrelated to T-Mobile), this service is $8.50 per month, plus tax for unlimited calls throughout the US. The regular price is $10.00 per month + tax.

The connection is very clear!!!

As an added bonus, our cell phones connect via Wifi to the router at home, eliminating the usage of minutes.

I have already made 9 calls, with pristine voice clarity.

For home phones, we purchased the following:

If you already have this service, let me know your thoughts.

If not, check it out....

very cool. my BIL has used a wi-fi phone for a while

I am surprised by the hatred for Tmobile in this thread! i never knew....

We have tmobile and tmobile@home which we have NEVER had a problem with. Never had a dropped call, always clear calls, great prices--generally good coverage overall. And on top of that, I have had some great experiences with their customer service which has had me suggest to family and friends to also switch to them (which they did, which now saves us even more money as minutes spent talking to other tmobile customers don't count against us).

This is after having about every call I made with AT&T being dropped even when I live in and work in the larger urban areas. It was so frustrating, especially when the tag line is "least dropped calls", which was not my experience at all!

Yet each location is unique and the coverage from different carriers can vary depending on where you are. We were sure to research tmobile's coverage in our area before going with them.

happy cell phone hunting

We have T-Mobile for our cell phones. We switched from Verizon because we wanted sim card phones - so I do find the coverage a bit spotty at times - though I hear AT&T and Sprint are no better in my area. So unless we want to forgo the sim card, we'd probably have to go back to Verizon to get decent coverage again. But I don't hate T Mobile or anything.

That works in your case, but if you spend much time on the phone; as we do; you need another solution as described above.

T-Mobile@home offers nationwide coverage for $10.00 per month, plus a late model wireless router.....with excellent reception. My wife and I have now made over 60 calls, overseas and domestic, with outstanding reception.

I have nothing to gain here....Only offering my good fortune to the VJ community. Try it....You can cancel within 7 days.
