 My mate is from there - he told me that Frankfurt is the murder capital of Germany :P

Is there Google Maps evidence to support your claim?

Nice to joke but it sure as hell beats no evidence, let alone the opinion of people who are biased on the topic.

I plainly said it was what someone else told me. There's no more or less to it than that - perhaps its true, perhaps it isn't. I don't really care either way.

No, he was making a swipe about something I said in another thread.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Sheriffs are elected. They're not assigned. Goes to show how the people in that area are portrayed.

yea.. Arpaio is just doing what the people want, and the people in that area, looks like are pretty fukced up... and quite xenophobic

whoops - sorry - i get yer point now -

yer saying the people of that area appear to be quite xenophobic.

Ya, I get that, now :D

It's not about the fear or dislike of foreigners it's about the the law!

removing rights or using excuses to abuse the law, is not abiding by the law

AND THIS IS

Arizona’s illegal immigrant population is costing the

state’s taxpayers about $1.3 billion per year for education, medical care

and incarceration. Even if the estimated tax contributions of illegal immigrant

workers are subtracted, net outlays still amount to more than $1 billion

per year.

your making excuses for illegal immigrants..

I'm not talking about not deporting illegals, if he finds them and deports them in a legal and civilized way, fine with him, but he's just twisting the law however he finds it convenient.. I'm not talking about the illegals per se, but the collateral damage that he's doing, it's big, it's not just a couple of mistakes

I think we can agree, we have seen cops per-say twist the law on many other things as well. The point is something needs to be done, and he has the balls to do it!

I think what is quite clear sjr09 - is that you are making excuses for Sheriff Joe.

The cost of illegal immigration doesn't mean you can adopt an "ends justify the means" approach to law enforcement.(Happens all the time!)

No excuses, happy to see someone with the balls to do what needs to be done! I'm all for legal immigration, just not illegal immigration. Stand in line!

If you aren't making excuses for Arpaio then you are clearly ignorant as to his activities.

Again - you don't enforce the law by adopting an ends justifies the means approach to law enforcement. Regardless of what anyone thinks about illegal immigration, you can't do that.

Good bump.

Even though its not what we'd likely support, I think that citizenship or residency should be earned- even by those REAL residents and/or citizens. That means some illegals are more highly deserving of the fruits of such behavior than many ingrates already here and very much 'legal.'

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

Deserving? Ha!

Stealing and cheating to get something you are not entitled to get hardly makes them "deserving" of residency, jobs, social benefits, and/or citizenship. They really deserve a one-way back to the very end of the line (i.e.: back to their home country).

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

Earning by action under legal circumstance- yes, but I knew you'd be reeled in by the deserving part more than anything. Thanks for swimming in the same pond. Happens with people that read selectively. Next up: illegal alien cheerleading comment.

83% opposed issuing drivers’ licenses to undocumented immigrants.

62% support Sheriff Joe Apario's stance on immigration law enforcement

A Rasmussen Reports conducted on October 3rd, 2007 of 500 likely voters found:

74% of Arizona voters want the Sherriff’s Office to continue recent sweeps to arrest and deport illegal immigrants.

77% would like other law enforcement agencies in the state to follow the lead of Arpaio’s team.A Rasmussen poll Arizona Survey of 500 Likely Voters conducted on July 21st, 2009 found:

51% say Congress should pass immigration reform before health care reform.

65% believe that enforcing the borders is more important than legalizing those already here

How does that disprove what I said?

These guys will ignore any data. Apparently their opinion is all that counts.
