Hello everyone, this is my first post here-i appreciate any advice you may have.

I have my parents cases at NVC right now-to bring them here from Moscow.

I sent in the required paperwork-ds 230's, affidavit of support, birth certificates etc etc. To make a very long story as short as I can this is what has happened so far:

They have lost some of my paperwork, I sent it in again (ds 230's)-that was done promptly. They began to ask me for originals of birth certificates AFTER I had spoken with a supervisor who confirmed to me that for my country (Russia) NVC does NOT require originals of the birth certificates because it is ILLEGAL to send them out of Russia. The supervisor then informed me that the case looked good and all paperwork looked complete, that I only needed to send it my marriage certificate, which I overnighted the next day. I was excited after speaking with that supervisor-after all, she told me everything else looked great. What a fool I was to be expecting some good news about an interview date for my parents...A couple of weeks after I started receiving the dreaded NVC emails which again requested the original birth certificates. Hours on the phone with NVC later, and one thing became clear: the regular reps kept repeating they needed the originals, the supervisors all told me that I should not be asked for them, that they will "fix everything" etc. All of a sudden I start getting more NVC emails asking for three police clearance certificates from my parents, from places they lived in the 70's which USED TO be part of Russia, and now are no longer part of Russia but rather their own countries (Georgia,Ukraine and Kazakhstan). I speak to yet another supervisor, bringing to her attention that the police clearance certificates submitted for my parents state RUSSIAN FEDERATION and cover the above mentioned territories as they were PART OF RUSSIAN FEDERATION AT THE TIME MY PARENTS RESIDED THERE. The supervisor tells me yet again that she will "fix" the part of them asking for the original birth certificates, and for me to write a letter explaining the police clearance certificate situation. Which I wrote and overnighted the next day. I followed the instructions precisely (separate envelopes for each parent, case numbers written, barcodes etc). I tracked my envelope and saw it was signed for by NVC the next day. I gave it three weeks to follow up (big mistake) and they have the nerve to tell me they do not have anything of what I sent in my file. Telling them that I have proof of it being signed for did nothing at all-it was like listening to a broken record-we dont have it. I asked for a supervisor again, who remembered me as we had spoken before-she asked me to write an email and attach what I previously sent in PDF format. I sent that email last week. Today while trying to follow up I feel I am being given a run around-call the supervisor at this time, oh she isnt done looking into it, call back in an hour, oh now she is out, call back later,oh now she is gone for the day. I CANNOT DEAL WITH THIS ANYMORE. Or rather, I can deal with anything, but i just NEED to get somewhere with this. I feel I am getting nowhere. I have not seen my mom for over ten years, and she is getting older by the day. She has not met my children. I see how much she is suffering and losing hope, and it is devastating to me. Has anyone been in a similar situation? Can you please share your words of wisdom with me? Are there people above the supervisors one can speak with? What can I do :-(

I think your case is complicated and you better get a lawyer. A good one because they know what they can do with this situation. Most of people here have no experience with this situation.

Good luck
