Hi all,

I'm sure this has been addressed many times before......

I got my green card a few months ago, and am travelling back to the UK end of this month to visit my family for the whole of august, I cant help worrying that I'll have problems re-entering the USA, even though i've been told I can travel with my conditional green card, so I guess i'm looking for reassurance that i'll have no probs.... Also what documents do I need to present to immigration for re-entry, my passport is in Maiden name, and green card is in Married name? Which line do I get in now, Visitors still or Citizens? Also do I only fill in the Customs form on way back or any other forms do I fill in?

As you can see i'm all panicky and flustered over this :help:

Thanks in advance

Rachel

1. Yes, you fill out a customs form.

2. go to the resudent/USC line

3. carry your marriage certificate with you

You will have no problem coming back in... :)

We just got back from our trip to Colombia. We bought her ticket in her maiden name to match the passport (the airlines check this.) We carried an original and a copy of the marriage license - no one ever asked anything about it. Her green card is in her married name (its the temp green card) but the immigration (Passport control) guy in Miami looked at the passport and the green card and never asked us to explain why the names don't match.

I think we all worry too much. You are fine with your green card - but I agree with Miamimike - Buy your tickets in the name to match the passport - and don't worry about the entry into USA - piece of cake. We used the visitor line - because it was empty!
