Hi

I'm on an M1 visa and about to send everything in (I-130 and I-485 packages). My school I-20 expires in 14 days though...

If I send everything in today and things are pending, do I need to maintain my M-1 status and not worry about that I-20 expiration date? Or should I get an extension?

I know this is something I should probably ask from an immigration lawyer but maybe someone else here has had experiences with that...

Thanks

I'm on a F1/student visa right now and got married with a US citizen. My visa will expire on July of next year.

You should file your I-130 and I-485 before the date of expiration. No need to file for an extension 'cause you will really spend a lot of money for that. All I know is if you have pending petitions/applications, your stay here is authorized and you will not incur unlawful presence even beyond your I-94/I-20. So send your applications ASAP.
