We started the EP process and are regretting it now. Every email we have sent the NVC has gotten held up in their third party email router for a minimum of 2 weeks until it is forwarded to the NVC.

I agree with one of the previous posts: EP stands for 'Ever Pissed'

Have you started the subject line of every email with your case number?

Are you using the NVCMontreal email addy?

Did you have OPTIN as the first word in your initial email?

Your timeline looks about right for the NVC at this point. There is no way to get through the NVC in 2 weeks now. Its just another hurdle to overcome in the process.

Okay, so my wife submitted the OPTIN email to NVC Montreal on Oct 27th along with the DS-3032 scanned and signed by her naming me as the agent. I paid the $70 AOS bill online a few days prior and it shows "PAID" as of now.

We have NOT received the confirmation back from NVC stating that we have opted in for EP. I did call NVC and give both of our emails to an operator last Thursday.

Based on what I've read here thus far, can we go ahead and submit the I-864 along with the printed "PAID" AOS fee now even though we haven't received the confirmation optin email back from NVC?

Then once we send that in, we wait for the IV Fee to be invoiced, pay it, wait for it to show as "PAID", then print that sheet off and submit with the I-230 package correct?

is this all right? Thanks for your help VJ'ers!

Yea, the latter part sounds about right.. but you might want to wait till you get an email for the OPTIN to be applied since that has the potential to cause problems. Mine took about 2 weeks to come aswell, during which I got impatient and sent the I864. After a couple of days later, I got the OPTIN confirm email from them, and the lady had said ''they might just delete your stuff because on their system it doesn't show that youre enrolled in the EP".

Oh and remember whenever you are submitting documents, the same rules apply as if you were submitting them by paper (Cover sheet, contents page etc.)

When most people submit the I-864, do they actually include 3 years worth of tax returns? That's an awful lot to scan in specially since mine are 20-30 pages each year! It says one year is sufficient, but 3 may be submitted if one believes it will help qualify. I have rental properties as well, but don't really know if I want to go through the hassle of listing all of those assets, my yearly income alone is more than enough above the 125% level to qualify me. Don't want to fill out more than is necessary you know.

We did jump the gun after NVC recieved our file from USCIS. After I phoned, left our emails, and got our case number I sent a generic email selecting 'choice of agent'. Later I recieved an email from NVC with the attachment 3032, which also contained the option to EP. We selected the EP route and sent in the 3032 with OPTIN. attached. These 2 seperate email for 'choice of agent' seemed to generate 2 IV bills. (paid one - showed paid, 2 days later another IV bill popped up). NVC must have caught the mistake as it got fixed about 4 days later.

With all the bills, as soon as they showed 'paid', we followed the link attached to the receipt page and submitted the emails with the I-864, and DS-230 forms as approriate.

I think we did everything we could to expedite the process, but it seems to be taking forever to get through NVC. The operator I talked to Nov 4th, said "after they receive all the approriate emails it may take 2-4 weeks to get through NVC".

We only included 1 - since you are well above the qualifying income level, I can't think of a reason why you would submit more.

I emailed the I-864 package as soon as it showed paid. I did not wait for the confirmation email. It takes about 2 - 3 weeks for them to accept this package. Either way you choose to do it, send it immediately, or wait for the confirmation email is up to you. I don't think either way is incorrect. But note, there is a size limit when you send in your emails.

I included 3 years worth of returns. But you are not required to do so. If your returns are that big, I would only include one and see if they RFE you for more evidence. If you are not using assets as proof, then use the 864EZ form and send in at least 6 months of paystubs...

I suggest the currect collection for 2008, then TAX TRANSCRIPTS for 2007 and 2006 - should be a LOT LESS paper to scan, right?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Yeah, it was -- basically just one that says "As part of the Applicant Document Process, each traveling applicant will be required to return a DS-230, Application for Immigrant Visa, to the National Visa Center at the following address." among other things.

I figure it's just a generic email, nothing to do with EP, but thought I'd ask here just in case. Thanks for your advice!

Nice!! An 864EZ, now that's what I'm talking about! I'll opt for that and get my employment letter as well.

My suggestion would be, if your income is sufficient, that there is no need to send an employment letter. Take that extra stuff to the interview if it will make you feel more comfortable - the I-864 only requires the 1 tax return.

I also just got an email from NVC asking for documents I already sent 2 weeks ago( I864 & DS230) and fees (that I paid). I am not sure exactly what is going on, but I tried to log into the online payment and the login failed. Is my case done at NVC? I'll have to call to find out, I guess.
