Called AVR and confirmed case complete at NVC on April 22! Now it's waiting (patiently if possible) for the interview letter...

Took exactly a month to go through NVC from when the case number was received. Not the fastest but with the current backlog for EP and confusion and all, not too shabby.

Congrats to FireRay! Hope everyone else in our group hears soon!!

Case completed today !! Very exciting. We got the email from NVC advising and also had sign in fail at the payment portal. I'll call later tonight to confirm with the operator etc; NVC is busy this am and I doubt the AVR will be updated for a while.

EP is moving. Our case went to NVC Mar 30th and we are done as of Apr 23rd !! Nice.

Good luck to all.

Zenaxe, you sure got approved fast - congratulations! My hubby apparentley called in at some point after I did last week and the NVC moved our documents received date from 4-13 to 4-16. Ugh. But am hoping that means they have all the documents now even they were all sent on the same day. No approval by Monday and I will have to call in and talk to a supervisor to make sure.

Now that there are a few of us sitting and playing the wait for interview letter game, What did you all think of EP?

I thought it was kinda..different. No guidance from the nvc,I followed the EP Wiki guide. The NVC Seemed very inconsistant with EP. Sometimes it took two weeks to get to your e-mail, sometimes it took 4 days or so. Also, felt like I had to Keep up with my case...and kinda push it along. And when talking to an operator you kinda needed to explain things to them...I am not sure why they didnt understand the words "e-mail" or "Electronic Processing" Lol. The other thing is, you had to keep calling the nvc to "catch" your case when it first got entered in, so you could give them your e-mails and avoid them sending you anything in paper. Also keep in mind, they dont really tell you when they get things...you just have to hope its there. Atleast for me the AVR never got updated. So I called them ocasionally and asked...even then it was "Well the system shows we got something, but I dont know what, it doesnt say" Lol :bonk: I just sent things when I was able to get the coversheet. They did seem kinda "Po'ed" to the fact that folks were not waiting for the OPTIN e-mail confirmation before sending in their I-864's (Lol, yeah the lady was very fustrated over that)

The upside of all this - Didnt have to pay for the overnight mailing, Scanning and e-mailing is super easy (Follow the EP wiki, it works great)

I really could see EP being a huge difference in reguards to a RFE. But if you look at the timelines of the folks in the NVC thread, they seem to be getting Log in fails/ Case completes in less/or about the same ammount of time. (Ones without RFE's)

What did you guys/gals think?

I'd say yer comments are spot on with folks who have gone through it in prior months.

There's been a coupla change-ups, new speedbumps, for March and April -

--NVC Slowing Down to a Crawl

--DS-3032 kit being UNBUNDLED, must ask instead for 'AOS FEE BILL VIA EMAIL', instead.

--Resending email sets seemed useful. grrrr

--NVC Email system changeup (NVCMontreal@state.gov shift to NVCElectronic@state.gov)

Think maybe the EP slowdown is due to them merging all the e-mails from the different consulates to one e-mail? So now it takes longer for them to get to your emails? Since they do the emails...in the order they are recieved...or so the operators claim. And I am sure they didnt hire on anyone to handle the big load either.

What did you all think of EP?

Well, I really don't have anything to add.. I think FireRay covered most of the issues that I experienced with EP. Lack of communication back is the most frustrating issue but it can be worked through using the payment portal and AVR/operators + A LOT of patience. As a techy guy I think I prefer EP - cleaner to handle everything digitally and easier than running to the post office every week or so and sending off things. Or maybe it's just being a bit cheap and lazy.. ;) Anyway, doesn't seem to be any time savings right now for doing one over the other with their current email backlog.

I concur with what FireRay was saying about "catching" the case at EP right at the beginning. I must have missed it by a few hours because they didn't email the AOS Fee Bill to us even though I called the same day NVC created a case number and gave them our email addresses. I had to wait for it in the mail which delayed our case probably a few days. I eventually asked them to email it to us but received the packet in the mail the same day.

As far as EP goes - I appreciated the fact I didn't have to worry if they would lose my mail. I didn't have to send originals, can hand carry them to the interview. I don't know that we had any 'less' communication than the folks doing snail mail, though.
