OK, the AVR has updated saying they have received my documents, wait 6-8 weeks, yada yada yada. Fingers crossed no RFE's...

Hey Guys...can you clarify this out for me....please!!

Do I have to wait until the 5 days are up...call NVC...get my case number...then give them my email address...then wait for them to send me the DS-3032 form...and then send in the optin email...for EP...

OR...I can just give them my email address...and just send them a DS-3032 form that is available online...and send them the OPTIN email....

Let me know...if I should wait for them to send in the DS-3032 form or not! =D =)

Please and thanks!

You can get your case number from the AVR (Automated Voice Response)- you just need your USCIS #. Once you get your case number, you need to talk to an operator, give him/her the email addresses of the petitioner and the benificary. You can download the DS-3032 from here, and send it in with the OPTIN email. Then you do need to wait for the acceptance email, and you can continue to the next step.

ya enter the casenumber from the NOA-1 into the NVC AVR thingie, and it reads back the MTL casenumber to you.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

NVC needs to receive the casefile, so that the IIN and AOS fee bill can be generated. 5 days is kinda on the 'inside' of the curve - IMO its still not enough time for the IIN to be generated. Things are changing though, NVC EP seems a quagmire of 'wait a mo, lets try this, see if it works - as nothing else seems to be working' - I had posited to wait 2 weeks from NOA-2 date, prior to these internal changes.

ONCE you have yer NVC Case #, sure, you can OPT IN almost immediately. You DO NOT HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE DS-3032 form to be emailed to you, at all.

When you are talking to an NVC Tele-Operator, though, ask specifically for an 'AOS FEE BILL to be EMAILED' .

I'm thinking of doing a timeline for those of us in EP at NVC...what all things do you think I should include on it? So far, I have:

NVC Received - Rec DS3032/I864 Bill - Submit DS3032 - Pay I864 - Send I864 Pkg - Rec IV Bill - Pay IV - Send DS230 Pkg - RFE Req - Send RFE info - LIF

Although this seems a tad long. Sigh. I would like to include date interview notice received and interview date, too. Maybe if I put it on Excel and just post the spreadsheet...

And what is the experience lately? I received the I-864 and IV bills at the same time, and paid them at the same time. Is that still happening? I should know this, but I have not kept track.

Thanks ValerieA! I think we both submitted them on April 12th. You should be soon!

Also, there already is a timeline for all Montreal applicants in this Canada forum area updated by TrailMix. Although it's not the same format purely for EP as your suggestion.

I haven't seen anyone in awhile get both bills at the same time like you did. Mine mostly followed the timeline/process in the EP wiki by Darnell.
