I too called them today, the operator told me that they are backlogged right now. She didnt really seem suprised by the phone call, perhaps she talked to a few folks about it today. She did however know about the EP process. When I mentioned that I sent in an OPTIN e-mail she was like... "Ohhhhh you did that well....lately we have been recieving over 1000 emails a day" in one of those tones that you get when someone does something you woudlnt suggest....lol so I was second guessing myself at that point. But she did say, dont e-mail more than once or it could mess up the processing.

Thanks for your input FireRay.. Probably shouldn't have sent the second OPTIN email now that I think about it.. It'll only confuse them. The operator didn't really seem to know what he was talking about and shouldn't have sent the email again.

FireRay, please let me know if and when you get a response on your OPTIN email since we submitted it the same day, we *should* hear back around the same time. I believe Zenaxe emailed his on 3/28 so it might take a few days extra for him to hear back. In the meantime, there hasn't been any updates on the I-864 package I emailed on Monday.

Just received an update from NVC! They replied to our original OPTIN email (3/25) with a successful EP enrollment and receipt of the DS-3032 (just about 2 weeks from when we sent it). I hope resending the OPTIN email yesterday won't mess us up or they will just ignore it. Maybe we'll be finished with NVC in two weeks by the time they get to the second email.. innocent.gif

Only question is.. Should I resend the I-864 packet now that we have the go ahead or will they stumble across the one I sent emailed in on Monday and use that?

Hopefully the ball will keep rolling now with I-864 acceptance, IV bill to be paid, and DS-230. Patience is THE virtue right now with the NVC process, especially EP.

Here's the EP enrollment email in case you are interested:

Dear Sir/Madam:

Thank you for your interest in processing your case electronically with the National Visa Center (NVC).

Awesome, so lets hope that mine is coming today too. As you and I filed on the same day.

well, if the lady that I talked to was correct about them recieving alot of emails aday, and that they process them in the order they get them, that would make me say dont send another in. Reason being, that in a few days or whenever it is, they will get to your I-864. I have no plans to resubmitt it when I get my EP letter. If time passes and they havent gotten the I-864, then I would call them first. (Atleast thats what I am planning to do.)

FireRay when did you submit your I-864 package? It's not on your timeline. Just curious to see when you submitted it to when your IV bill came up available to be paid (today).

Great, thanks. I submitted my I-864 on 4/5 so I'll keep checking the payment portal!

Where in PA are you located? I grew up outside Philadelphia in a little town called Landenberg (In between West Chester and Newark, DE). I miss the east coast sometimes. I'm in Denver now.

Hey good news for you both Fireray and bwoo !! Glad to hear you got the EP confirmation. I'm still waiting and may end up a few days behind you. Bwoo and I ended up doing the same thing ie calling NVC and then resending the DS3032 as the operator advised. I'm hoping it won't slow down the process. So glad to hear of your news and I look foward to getting this set up on my end and paying that IV bill. It'll be interesting to know if you guys will need to resubmit the DS3032 or the I 864 given the jump we all took before EP was confirmed. Hopefully we dont' have to.

I'm waiting for my EP approval, also. 2 supervisors told me that I could submit my I-864 and DS-230 before I receive it, since my payments have both been made. Hope they are right, since I sent them in this morning. Due to a misunderstanding between my lawyer and myself (she said that she knew what electronic processing was, and it turns out she didn't have a clue since she deals mainly with Mexican immigrants), my opt in email did not get submitted at the beginning of March like it should have been. I did not realize this until I had managed to get the last few items I needed for my package, and suddenly had to explain what EP was, and that they see the originals AT THE INTERVIEW. Sigh. She actually called NVC while I was there to confirm what I told her.

One more thing I thought of - I have never received an automated response from NVCElectronic@state.gov. This concerns me, since I see others mentioning it. I sent the initial opt in email (March 31st), a second one (April 5th), the I-864 (today), and finally the DS-230 (today). Not one automated response. Should I be concerned?

Should I be concerned?

IMO, No.

MTL casefiles don't need to wait on anything, all is 'driven' by payment portal status.

GUZ/GZO casefiles, alas, have to wait for 'casefile conversion'.

MTL casefiles do not need to wait to send things in - at all - except for status on the online payment portal.

Good Luck !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

I am bothered by the bolded words above.

IMO - you aren't to wait on anything, not waiting to 'receive' anything.

It's up to YOU to PUSH things INTO NVC.

Lets see?

1. send in the OPT IN email.

2. monitor payment portal - check for AOS fee bill to be paid, pay it.

3. monitor payment portal - when AOS fee bill is marked 'paid' - send in I-864 set.

4. monitor payment portal - when IV fee bill is to ready to be paid, PAY IT.

5. monitor payment portal - when IV fee bill is marked 'paid' - send in DS-230 set.

and that's it - all you need to do for this pushing.

Good Luck ! Suggest you negotiate fee discount with yer attorney for having to train him/her/it about NVC Electronic Processing. Seriously.
