I just want to ask if we can remarry here in the US like having a ceremony again so we can have SSN right away without getting my EAD or AOS yet. Just curious as I've said it won't hurt to ask right? I am on K3 by the way to make it clear. As I have noticed that those who married here got their SSN right away or please correct me if I am wrong. This whole paperworks just drives me nuts so I've been thinking so many possibilities that I can have it this way. Well.. thanks for everything... :D

From what I understand, once you're married...you're married. Some states won't let you remarry if a marriage has occured overseas

You can get an SSN without an EAD or doing AOS. However, you cannot work until the EAD or green card has been issued. An SSN does not allow you to work by itself

Good luck.

K-1s are able to get a SSN before AOS or EAD because of their class of entry (K-1), not because they get married here. It's not the marriage that makes you eligible for a SSN--many K-1s get their SSN before they get married.

On a K-3, you will need either an EAD or GC to get a SSN.

This will not work for you... SSA does not issue a SSN for that reason...

YMMV
