Tsunami Hit Again in Indonesia.

I'm really concern about the Indonesian who had been hit by the Tsunami. According to the news its almost 300+ the death toll and hundreds are missing. I hope this will not happen again. I send my symphaty to all people who live in Indonesia. Pray is the only thing I can help right now.

God must have it in for Indonesia. Tsunamis, earthquakes, floods, volcanoes... It might be easier to list disasters Indonesia isn't suffering instead!

On Sunday night i just watched Discovery channel about Tsunami in 2004 and it was heart breaking.. I's so happy none of my family in Phuket, Thailand got hit. I was in the US at that time and it was divastating not to be able to be there to help my country.

I've heard that because the global warming melt the ice and the amount of water increase and the weight and pressure increase on the planet that caused the earthquack over there.. and it seems to be more often and more dangerouse too. it's really really sad.

Indonesia tsunami toll touches 339

PANGANDARAN: Tearful parents searched for missing children as soldiers pulled corpse after corpse from the debris of homes flattened by the second tsunami to hit Indonesia in two years. At least 339 people died, officials said, with more than 600 injured.

Bodies covered in white sheets piled up at makeshift morgues or laid under the blazing sun on a beach popular with local and foreign tourists.

"I don't mind losing any of my property, but please God, return my son," said a villager who gave the name Basril, as he and his wife searched though mounds of rubble at the once idyllic Pangandaran resort.

An undersea quake of the magnitude 7.7 on Monday triggered the two-metre-high wall of water that crashed into a 180 kilometre stretch of beach on southern Java island, which was unaffected by the devastating 2004 Asian tsunami.

Though local authorities failed to issue warnings - with one scientist saying they'd realised

the quake's power too late a few people said they’d recognised the danger when they saw the sea recede, and fled to higher ground.

A black wave shot ashore half an hour later, sending boats, cars and motorbikes crashing into resorts and fishing villages, and flooding areas 300 metres inland, witnesses said.

The death toll rose to at least 339, Health Ministry official Nurvila Dewi said on Tuesday, with another 136 missing and 601 injured.

"We are still finding many bodies. Many are stuck in the ruins of the houses," said local police chief Syamsuddin Janieb as soldiers nearby pulled a toddler’s body from the mud, then washed it for a traditional burial.

At least 54,000 people fled their homes, either because they were destroyed or in fear of another tsunami, adding to the difficulty of counting casualties.

No, no avalanches there. We do have landslides though...

When I was back home, I experienced about 3 earthquakes (none of them were severe), 1 volcano eruption (we had to use masks for weeks !), and 2 floods (every other year usually in Jakarta, bad sewer systems ). Good thing my parents and family lives quite far from ocean and volcanoes...

It is truly a tragedy, and one that would be preventable with the proper technology and education. That area of the world just seems to be such a difficult place to live (I guess as are many places around the world).

I often fear for my fiancée's well being in the Philippines. But she survived the Mt. Pinatubo eruption (was going to school near the mountain), has no dangerous fault lines near her home, and lives on a plateau which will keep her safe from tsunami's as well as mudslides.
