Hello my dear VJ friends,

I have a question? Currently, I have my DS-230 packet ready to send out to NVC except the police certificate.

The followings are the contents of my DS-230, please let me know if I missed anything.

(1) Printed Cover Sheet & DS-230

(2) Our Marriage Certificate (Original with translation)

(3) Beneficiary’s Birth Certificate (Original with translation)

(4) Beneficiary’s Passport Photos (2 photos to accompany the DS-230 & 2 photos to accompany the medical)

(5) Beneficiary’s Passport Biographic Page (Photocopy)

(6) 1 affidavit & 10 wedding photos printed on 1 photo sheet (I need to include wedding photos cause I did not have it in the I-130 packet. My I-130 packet only contain the barely minimum requirement and nothing else whatsoever)

Now, my question is this…can I go ahead and send out this DS-230 packet while I’m waiting for the police certificate from the beneficiary? Is this save me time? What do you folks think? I figure, I’ll send the police certificate once I’ve got it. I do not want to waste any time while waiting for the police certificate (2-3 weeks).

Once again, please let me know if I missed anything.

Thank you in advance for your help!

I think you also need to send the USC birth certificate (original)

Well, per DS-230 instructions it doesn't mention that USC bc part.

Thank you for your help, christeen! I'd greatly appreciated. I will remove the 2 passport photos, affidavit & 10 wedding photos out from the packet and send the rest out.

it would be better if you wait to enclose the pcc with this package, cos sometimes rfe delay cases.

and good luck anyway

Hmmm... I think you might have a good point there, paradiselost! Maybe I should wait for the pcc first because the RFE may delay the case.

Okay, let me think about it and in the meantime I'll wait and hold on the DS-230 packet. I wish I get some feedback from those who already in the same situation as I am.

Thank you for your help, paradiselost!

Here is my opinion (that and $1 will get you a cup of coffee), however, at NVC, once they receive your package they check it in and start to go through your paperwork, when they notice that the PCC is missing an RFE will get generated and you case will be set aside pending your response and sending the RFE... Once the PCC is sent in, it will go into your file and the RFE clieared... Not sure if it will cause that much of a delay since you will have all the rest of your paperwork in and approved already... so they should be able to complete the case once you answer the RFE...

However, this all depends on WHEN you think you will get the PCC... if we are talking about a week or so, then I would hold and send it together, if it is more like 2-3 weeks, I might go ahead and send it in...

Like I said, only my opinion and what I would do in your shoes... Others will have different thoughts I am sure.

Okay!!! It's seem to make sense. Since the packet has been reviewed it shouldn't take long to process. Oh well I guess I need to hold on just about a week or so, as you said, if I did not receive the PCC in time I'll definitly send it out.

Thank you, christeen!!!

The processing for NVC...

I have seen a lot of signatures about receiving the emails about paid bills and so forth.

Do we need to call NVC to give them your email address and beneficiary email address?

Or we need to let USCIS about the email addresses?

Call NVC once your case has been transferred from the service center (give it about 4-5 days) and then ask for a case number AND give them your and your SO's email addresses. They will ask for name and date of birth.

I'd wait until you have every thing you need, before sending off the DS-230.

The DS-230 requires ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS, so if yer missing one, what was the point to submit it?

Wait for the Police Certificate, IMO. Don't send out an INCOMPLETE PACKET.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
