Hello vjers

Has anyone here ever been denied entry at poe for not having filed the I-130, would that be a problem at the interview.

The poe officer told me and my husband to file I-130 and he could not let us crossed until we had an approved I-130

the officer was cool not like the other's he actually took his time and wrote down the website and all the form that goes with I-130 and told us that are denied entry will not hurt our visa process, just be truthfull with all paperwork. I know for a fact that I will be asked that question in the interview, and Im making sure i put all this info down on the proper forms.

Yes, I was denied entry twice. On the DS-230 you will list the dates of the denial and the reason (could be simply not enough ties or failed to qualify for a visa)

The CO at the interview made a joke about my denials and then moved on, totally not an issue

Good luck and don't worry - just be truthful

Thanks!

Just out of curiosity, what was the reason for the denial? When was it?

Good luck on your journey!

got denied in lewiston ny on 08/11/09 for not having the proper visa, poe officer said i need a approved I-130 petition to cross, my husband was with me and we were turn back to canada, we filed are I-130 and now in the nvc process. also because we got married in march of 09 and was unware about the I-130 form. It good we told the truth that why the poe officer did not give us any hard time, he even helped us on how to go about filing and send it to the proper authority, he told in average day they deny about 40-50 entry and it does not affect your visa proccess unless you lie on the forms.

thanks for the help
