Cannot remember exact date of entry?

It occurred to me, when I was trying to find my bus ticket from my last entry, that I don't remember when I came in. I traveled by bus and I BELIEVE I took the bus on the last day of February and crossed the border during the first of March, but I may be off by a day or two.

Again, that silly I-94 would come in really handy right about now, but it's not there. So, what hapens if I put down March 01, 2007... but it really was March 02, or Feb. 28th?

Thank you Krikit. The truth is that my bus trip was 27 hours long... When I crossed the border it was night time, very late. So, I honestly do not know the exact date.

It would be funny however that the CBP looked in my bag on Feb. 28 11:59pm, and finished doing that on March 01 12:01.

It's in your passport/visa page and in I-94.. The IO will stamp it twice.

Canadians don't receive a passport stamp, visa, or I-94. The only record of entering the US for a Canadian would be a copy of their flight or bus or train ticket.

Yup, I even heard some people doing it without those, or by writing an affidavit.

In any case, it is on the American consulate's website that Canadians don't receive I-94 and, back then, didn't need a passport. I guess if this becomes an issue, I can always argue that point.

Here is what I've decided on (I'll update as it goes)

Tomorrow (it's Sunday right now and they are closed), I am going to contact Greyhound corporate office (as recommended by their customer service). I believe they keep a list of passenger. By asking, politely and explaining my situation, they should, at least, look to see if my name is in their record. If they can send me a copy, awesome. If they can't.

Well, if they can't, I will go the affidavit road. I will write one, saying that I came legally, was inspected, but because I am Canadian, I did not receive and I-94 or stamp in my passport (I didn't even have one). And I'll cross my fingers.

Yup, that is what I'll be doing. You should see all the paperwork I'm planning to bring. I'm calling people left and right and having them write up a little something saying that I've spoken to them about my husband, or I invited them to our wedding or that they were there, or that they know us. Heck, I'd bring these people down there with us at the interview if I could!
