N-400 is all you need for citizenship, plus the all important instructions and the M-476 manual. I tried to find a printed copy of the latter, printing out 68 pages is kind of costly and time consuming, but had to do it anyway.

Regarding the rest, take one step at a time, you will have your work cut out for you just dealing with the N-400 and a wheelbarrow full of evidence plus the tests.

Affidavit letters are not required. Read over "The Guide To Naturalization" as instructed in the N-400 instructions. You will find a list at the back that includes exactly what documents you do need to send. Here is a link to the Guide: http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/men...000b92ca60aRCRD

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
