In a sense, this thread for some of us is moot. But I juest need a peace of mind in this time of stress and anxiety.

Whn you guys submitted your I-130, did you send wedding pictures or pictures of you and your spouse in general along with some letters, e-mails/chat logs etc? lol

Im knocking myself in the head now after readin a whole lot of threads in this site. I wish I stacked up heavily when submitting our application. All I sent is wahst requested (Marriage certificate, financial documents and 1 sworn affidavit from my aunt lol)

I thought the Marriage Certificate along with some bank transcripts would be enough. Damn it!@!!!!

Our time line for CR1 visa took only 5 months and 1 week or 156 days; from the filing the I-130 on the 03-12-2009 to Approval of NOA2 on the 05/13/2009, then Interview on the 08/18/2009 at Manila, Philippines. We had a daughter on the 11-12-2010 named AISHA JOY means HAPPY LIFE.a1_opt-1.jpga2_opt-1.jpga3_opt-1.jpg

I also just sent the basics and 3 affidavits, one from SO's friend at the wedding, one from a hired witness at the wedding and one from my mom who watched my children while I went to Africa to get married. As you can see from my timeline, our process went very quick. I don't believe in heavy loading (I know others disagree). I don't because I used to work in a government office and I can tell you from experience the large files are left for a day when the person feels like dealing with it. The smaller and well organized files are processed first.

Thanks. WhidbeyGirl. Just the kind of stuff I want to hear! lol...to be fair with myself, I think I did send the necessary dccuments. I wish i have one more affidavit but other than that, I sent Bank/Loan/Credit Card letters proving we where joint account holders and a marriage certificate.

I just feel like LOL'ing right now because had I know we could loaded our package just a little bit more.

Just the basics and a copy of our joint checking account (i.e.: proof that we have one). We might have included a boarding pass or two...but there wasn't much else we felt we needed to add at that juncture.

I sent in the minimum requirement and that is it. I didn't send wedding pic, bank statement, affidavit, or any other thing. Like I say... just the minimum requirement. My I-130 packet was so thin because there's nothing much in it.

I think it is more than enough for you, gpmaan. You sent in a lot more than I am.. I think you're okay!

Yes - send as much evidence as you possibly can. Then once you have sent in your petition, keep all the communication between the petition sent to receiving the interview date. I don't think you send any evidence to the NVC, you take it with you to your interview.

Hello,

With our I-130, I sent in the required documents, plus a picture of my husband and I and our son when he was born in the hospital, and three wedding pictures, plus one letter from our best man who knew of our relationship and marriage. We were approved no RFE's.

For the I-130 you really have to only prove you are married and she is a legitimate immigrant,,, I think your proof is adequate. Just be prepared as

the process continues to have proof of an ongoing bonafide relationship... That is what the consular officer will determine.

Good luck,

I sent a 7 lb. fedex box with binders of exhibits-everything but the kitchen sink!

I was approved in 37 days. Of course, maybe they were just sick of my binders and the sappy emails I sent...or the letters we wrote each other in the 1980s!

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

Rest is on my timeline!
