Haha I saw where the wild things are yesterday... it was magical and amazing!

Also, Karen O sings the soundtrack and she's absolutely wonderful.

I saw The Exorcist when I was 5. My parents were out and my sister and her friend were babysitting me and they let me watch it. Jaws was another one I saw as a kid. I thought Linda Blair was in my closet and the shark was under my bed.

I remember being scared to go to the washroom after seeing Jaws. I was convinced a shark was hiding in there.

I was living in Houston B.C. as a kid and my dad took my twin and I to a drive in to see King Kong. I died. I was a freaking mess and barfed popcorn up all over the place.

IT was not a proud moment.

OH geez... that's WAY worse... poor girl...

I was only 5 at the time so... that's my excuse.

:D

That reminds me of the time my daughter went out on her first date with this guy. She was not feeling too well but didn't want to cancel the date. He took her to the movies. Long story short, she threw up in the guy's lap. I bet he no longer eats popcorn now either. lol

Hey, I can totally relate to the original poster regarding Blair Witch Project. I was in my late teens when it came out, and I saw it a day or two after it first opened, when there was still lots of rumor that it was real footage. I distinctly remember having to fall asleep facing the wall that night as I was worried I would look into the corner of the room and see someone standing there, facing it.

I'm quite impressed that people remember It!. I bought it a few months ago, as that was another movie from my teens that scared the ####### out of me. Not the ending, which was lame, but the first half of the movie with Pennywise the clown.

Another one I'm surprised hasn't been mentioned is The Shining. All those brief flash cuts of slaughtered twin girls and elevators full of blood...

I hear Lars Von Trier's recent movie Antichrist is pretty scary. Given that his other films aren't even remotely "horror" films yet manage to be deeply disturbing, I wouldn't be surprised if Antichrist (which was nominated for the Golden Palm award at Cannes, no less!) outdoes them all. It's out on DVD a few days after Halloween.

Oh my god!!! Blair Witch! It scared the ####### out of me. I was an adult. I freaked out. My damn roommates at the time thought it would be funny to place stuffed animals standing in the 'corners' in various places of our apartment.

NOT. FUNNY.

Creeped out.

You know what movie freaked me out? I have no idea why... I was lying in bed one night, all alone and was watching Mothman Prophecies on TV.

For some reason, it gave me SUCH a freak that I had to shut it off and I was all big-eyed all night and stressed.

I have no idea why...

I mean it was Richard Gere and the red-headed chick from Will and Grace? I didn't think I was that much of a chicken...

Another movie that I found scary was gothika, I didn't expect it to be scary at all... it just had moments where I actually screamed and jumped.

Oh no!! So I'm guessing this isn't the guy she is marrying... ;)

Oh the Shinning! That reminds me... I'm toying with the idea of taking a ghost tour in the Stanley. I love ghosts and supernatural things but I get so scared to easy. Apparently it was the inspiration for the Shinning... but I don't really know the story.
