I guarantee if Americans were polled and asked if their opinions about Muslims were generally favorable or generally unfavorable it would be a landslide for the latter choice. As for anti-Obama protestors of course that includes the far right, but it also includes lots of people who aren't extremists. In fact the far left isn't too fond of Obama either. My point is that something like 45% of Americans (the number of course fluctuates) do not approve of Obama & that includes individuals across the political spectrum.

This may be true...

Whenever they ask these polls i just wish the first question was: Do you know any Muslims?

(Doesn't have to be Muslims, any survey regarding the perception of any minority group.)

How would knowing 1 - 5 muslims give you perspective on 1.57 billion?

How does not knowing any give you perspective?

Who said I didn't? We're talking about CAIR - not the entire muslim population. You libs like to make this all about prejudice no matter what topic it is.

I never heard of CAIR but you have to be careful about lumping all Muslims into one category. There are mainstream Muslims & radical Muslims (including but not limited to terrorists) and I'm pretty sure that mainstream Muslims would be offended if they were associated with the other group.

i know me and my husband are muslims and we have nothing to do with the taliban and think all that ####### is bs, we just live our lifes and hope that alll ends,

We are? You were the one quoting the 1.57 billion figure. That would be the entire Muslim population. You RWN have trouble staying focused.

I had frequent contact with Muslims during my tour in Iraq and I know from personal experience that most are decent people. Yes the cultural differences between the Muslim & Western worlds are significant, but the ignorance and hate that you see towards Muslims is largely unfounded.

Here is a poll from CNN that gives some insight on opinions of Americans about Muslims and vice versa:

http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/06/02/us....poll/index.html

Being that the poll is from CNN I won't be surprised if someone attacks the validity of the poll as being left wing bias, but the numbers seem pretty believable. If Fox or Rasmussen or some other right-leaning source has a similar poll feel free to post it.

CNN has been middle of the road recently. It seems the farther MSNBC moves out on the left fringe, and the more success FNC has been showing in the ratings, the more comfortable they have become challenging both the Whitehouse and Fox News.

Joe, you're the one doing the jumping here - it's easily visible from the above quoted. Very easily visible. Which is to say, even you should be able to see it. ;)
