If they look on your facebook and it says single, so what??? What if you havent logged ina while and never updated it..what if there are pictures of you and your ex on there? Im not doubting they can check your facebook, but how much can they hold something on there against you? Or better yet what if you cheated and someone posted pics of you, people are human and things happen, but what can they really hold against you on facebook? They can go ahead and check my profile who cares

and what if you put nicknames on fb instead of real ones?

fb is not sth formal for registering your details.

you have the right to refuse letting them see your profile

you have to answer all what they ask clearly with no lies

that's all

Hey Vj Family I just wanted to share some info...did you know that the US government has a Facebook page??? yes they do which means if you have a Facebook account and you are filing for K1/K3,CR1/IR1 or any other family or spouse related benefit they can and will sometimes check out your Facebook page and by US government i do mean (USCIS,NVC, ect):whistle: they also have twitter and youtube

PS. be sure if you are married that your page shows your relationship status as married

anywho back to praying for my NOA2 :innocent:

Are you trying to make people worry or even feel paranoid? I have coworkers who do this and love to be a buzzkill. It really gets tiring. Some just love to look for parades to rain on....

Ms. Sheka is the last one to rain on anyone's parades, as many people on here can attest to. She's a very positive VJer!

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

Rest is on my timeline!

 please, oh please check out my facebook page. it is filled with people asking me different questions on how close my husband is on getting here. and congratulations on our progress. it is also filled with photos that i did not add on the original submission. it would also be part of the paper reduction act

Don't you just get sick of that question? I keep telling people that I have no clue when my hubby's getting here, but it never deters the same people from asking me over and over... :bonk:

OMG. I hought it was just me. People ask me all the time, So, when is David coming over here? I am sooo tempted to say My crystal ball isn;t working just now but I'll let you know!

A friend of mine got questioned at a job about her facebook page at a job interview.... It was about a person in one of the photos with her as the HR lady knew them, however it was interesting to know that employers check...

I cancelled my account as I got sick of people I did not know contacting me... I dont keep in great contact with the people I DO know, let alone wanna chat with total strangers? It's like me walking around the streets saying to anybody, "he, will you be my friend"? Seems strange to me.

As far as the Govt, it doesent surprise me.... Under the current wire tapping and anti-terrorism laws they can look into ANYTHING they want without a warrent or cause, but applying for an immigrant visa is certainly enough cause for them to check you out... I dont think they are necessarily looking for if you changed your profile to married or single... but for anything that is out of the ordinary or a possible red flag....
