Hi hun,

Sounds to me like you have your stuff together. If you missed anything, you can always bring it at the interview. It seems to me like they always ask if you have anything you want to show them, you can show them the logs then. :)

Good Luck!

once you get the NOA1 for the 130, you then send it along with the 129f.

Echoing the others, dont worry about not sending the chat logs..it wont cause you any problems getting the petitions approved through USCIS. bring that stuff to the interview :)

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

This is just out of pure curiosity...did things change in filing since '06? I mean when I filed a K3 I didn't send any proofs of relationship with the application. Is this required now? Husband just brought proofs to the interview and really not that many. No chat logs at all. A handful of e-mails that weren't looked at and a small photo album.

Its not a requirment, but sometimes its a good idea to frontload the petition which allows the CO to see proof before even setting eyes on the applicant.

Cool, thanks! Yeah I was curious that things have changed in such a short time. I didn't include anything because #1 it wasn't on the instructions (haha) and #2 I didn't want to bog down the package with proofs. I can see how some would want to do that. It didn't make a difference for us.

Well you can apply for both visa's and then drop one at NVC stage. K3 doesn't cost any money to file. You pay $455, to file effectively two petitions.

If you go with K3 you will have to file for AOS within 2 years, this will cost you $1010.00 on top of the $455 you would have already spent on for I130 (its only I130, as no cost of filing K3).

Purchasing I130 route will cost:

$70 for affidavit of support (AOS)

$400 for immigrant visa (IV)

Purchasing I129f (K3) route will cost:

$355 for EAD

$305 for Travel Document

$1010.00 for Adjustment of status after 2 years

Mandatory fee's for both visa's are the:

filing fee cost (to get petition(s) started)

medical exam cost

embassy visa (machine readable visa) MRV fee cost.
