Wow, thanks for all the information. I guess there are advantages to living in farm country and Oksana had concerns about fresh vegetables and their availability. I hope I have calmed her fears.

I will tell you all that after Gary's constant reminder of how to ensure Oksana is a true Ukraine woman, I am beginning to doubt that I am a true American Man. I rather enjoyed the stinky fish, and my fridge is not complete without a container of sour cream and mayo. :D I just can't walk the streets there :)

Dave,

There's a little store here especialized in products from Poland, Ukraine & Russia. We'll swing by there today and I'll ask if they have a website or something where you could order some things.

Joe.

There is nothing "magical" in a Russian supermarket. The labels are different, different names, but it is all the same stuff.

I've never seen birch juice in American stores. Little things like that are the whole reason to seek out "home" when she shops. I'm all about having her eat the local fare and make it work, but when she can get exactly what she wants, that's one less thing for her to complain about.

Sour cream and mayo is OK, she can run me RIGHT out of the house with the stinky fish though!

Doesn't one use birch juice to clean gunstocks?

I couldn't tell ya. I don't really clean my gunstocks. On that note, I really don't clean my guns. I'll throw some Hoppes #9 bore solvent through them and then oil 'em up every couple months, but other than that, I don't do a whole lot. Probably why I have so much extra "camouflage" on them.

Speaking of things from home, what flavors of loose leaf tea does everyone like? I am not sure if it is a Russian tea, but I have to make sure that I get the correct one! LOL...

I don't know about loose leaf, but we f up some Earl Grey around here.

OMG tea. I never knew there were so many different teas and that this one or that one cured anything. I'm looking for a small cabinet to hang on the wall just for the tea. As far as I'm concerned tea is to drink with Chinese food. Give me a good cup of coffee and on weekends I'll add some cognac.
