Hello,

So after reading some previous threads I am a bit paranoid...My husband is self-employed (as of 2007)in 2006 he did not file taxes because he made less than required to file..2007 he only "made" around 10K, 2008 he was a few grand above the 125% poverty line...I am a little worried because of the big change in income over the years. He was learning the ropes of the business (his dad owned it) and then in 2008 his dad gave it fully to him, which is why he now makes much more money than in the previous years. He doesn't have much in assets, etc. We are going to include a detailed explanation of why he didn't file in 2006, and why he now is making so much more money.

My question is should we just get his dad to fill out the reequired form to be our co-sponser just in case? If its not needed would NVC just bypass this info, or if we submit it, then for sure he will be required to be our co-sponser? He has agreed to do it, and just to avoid a potential RFE I was thinking maybe we should just get him to fill it out. Would there be any ramifications if its not needed and we submitted it?

thank you,
