Hi,

I recently lost the job after filing I-130. Today i received form DS 3032. I am also supposed to pay the Affidavit of Support (AOS) fee to let the AOS process get started. My question is since i am unemployed, should i wait to get a job and then pay the fee. Is there any payment deadline? If i pay the fee now what will be the next document that i will be receiving from NVC. I am not sure what to do here. Please give some advice, thanks.

There are unfortunatly 2 bills coming your way... The AOS $70 then the IV fee bill $400. Your approval is good for 1 year so if you need to wait, you have to do what you have to do. As far as the AOS, I assume that you have a co-sponsor to meet the financial requirements??

Thanks christeen. Also, i will have to mail DS 3032 to my wife since it requires her signature. After signing it can she mail it directly to NVC.

Thanks

you might be able to add someone on application who can support your spouse. You will have to show copy of your last year' tax return, but if you cant get recent paychecks copy from your job or job letter, get another person as a supporter rather than waiting to get a job. JMO

You will also need a co-sponsor as you will have to prove 6 months of income, employment letter and paystubs... Unless you want to wait 6 months to move forward...

Thanks

You can also e-mail the 3032 using the template here on VJ (see Ling or James NVC shortcuts)... But e-mail it from her address...

Christeen, I am filing for my wife. So, i am the petitioner and she is the applicant. I am in the US and she is overseas. Could you please rephrase your answer thanks.

Sorry... The intending immigrant fills out the 3032 and indicates that they DO wish to appoint an agent (the person in the USA) as their agent... and puts the petitioners info in the address/phone info.... Then BOTH the intending immigrant AND theh USC will get the e-mails...

If the primary sponsor doesn't meet the poverty level guidelines, does he/she still need to submit supporting tax documents and employment letter etc? Will only the I864 be sufficient? And the joint sponsor will fulfil the rest?
