AOS Short Version:

06/26/09 - Mailed package to Chicago Lockbox!

07/07/09 - NOA's Arrive for AP, AOS & EAD [dated 07/01/09]

07/17/09 - Biometrics Completed [ Completed in 17 Days ]

08/12/09 - EAD APPROVED! Card Ordered! [Approved in 47 Days]

08/20/09 - Interview notice arrived dated 08/18/09 - Sept 24th/09

08/21/09 - Got EAD Card in the mail!! :D

09/24/09 - Interview Date: 9:00am - APPROVED

10/03/09 -Received GC!!!!!

Total Days from NOA1 to Approval : 86 Days

ROC:

04/01/11 - Preparing for ROC currently

06/27/11 - ROC Mailed!

07/02/11 - NOA1 Arrived [dated 06/30/11]

07/13/11 - Biometrics letter arrived [08/01/11]

10/31/11 - Final Approval!

11/04/11 - Received new card today.

Total Days from NOA1 to Approval: 125 Days

Next Step will be citizenship in June 2012!

I also overstayed, Our interview was really easy. Make sure you read everything and everything is correct, dates, names, allthat. We did not have anything together. As soon as I received my EAD (that afternoon) I went to get a driver license and My SSN. Went I received all that, We added me in the car insurance, bank account, taxes and we opened a secured credit card under my name. Also if you refile your taxes since your are going to ammend to married filing together IRS may send you some extra money that you can use for your AOS. When you submit your I-130, I485, I864, I765 and medical (all together), you will feel like you are a new woman. Just make sure you have more papers ready for your interview (probably in 3 to 4 months). You will be OK. :thumbs::thumbs:

01/14/11 Received NOA 1 (Priority date 01/02/11)

02/14/11 Could see case online

05/04/11 Waiting.......I am pregnant and I wish my Mom could be here when baby is born

05/23/11 Received email. Case approved. Yeahhhhhh

05/26/11 Received NOA 2 in the mail.

--------------NVC stage-----------------

06/07/11 NVC received case.

06/08/11 Called to give emails and got IIN.

06/10/11 Sent DS3032 email and paid AOS fee. Received auto response 15 seconds later.

06/14/11 AOS Showed Paid. Sent AOS Package.

06/16/11 NVC Received and accepted DS3032. AOS Package was delivered to NVC.

06/17/11 Paid IV fee.

06/22/11 IV Showed Paid.

06/23/11 Sent DS-230 via Express Mail.

06/24/11 DS 230 was delivered by USPS.

06/28/11 AOS was accepted per AVR.

06/30/11 Received AOS check list. Missing DS-230. (It was sent 06/23/11)

07/07/11 Case Complete per AVR and operator. Waiting for interview date.

08/01/11 Per NVC Operator Interview date 09/28/11

09/26/11 Medical test. Passed!!!!

09/28/11 Interview date @ BGT embassy. Approved!!!!!!!

10/06/11 Visa arrived.

10/19/11 Arrived to USA. POE ORLANDO

11/14/11 Received Green Card

Thank you! I cannot wait to file. The more I read what people went trough, the more I realize we'll most likely be ok. I'm sure USCIS runs into our kind of situation often.

12/20/10 ------- Received "Letter of Explanation" for RFE (Service Request to expedite my case. Called USCIS and was told to ignore that and just send in response to RFE.)

12/24/10 ------- Received EAD in the mail

12/27/10 ------- Applied for SSN

12/31/10 ------- Received Interview letter

Actually this long overstay could be in your favor, it is an extra non-traditional proof that your marriage is valid. Normally if it wasn't a real marriage you would've applied right away for AOS!

Also, I am not sure about it and I apologize if I am wrong but you might get the permanent GC, not the 2 years conditional one, as you have been married for more than 2 years. When we had our interview the IO explained to us "as you have been married for less than 2 years, you will be getting the 2 years conditional green card. " :blush:

Yeah, that is what a lot of people have told me. That is I married to get a GC, I would have done it sooner; I wouldn't have stayed out of status for so long. As for the GC, I think that is the one I should be getting, I just wonder if the restrictions are the same/ (Wait 2 years minus 3 months, then apply for naturalization). :wacko:

good catch, you could have been a citizen by now. unfortunately, you will have to wait till 3 years from the issuance of your green card for that.

good catch, you could have been a citizen by now. unfortunately, you will have to wait till 3 years from the issuance of your green card for that.

Gotcha. If they approve us, I'll be happy to wait for that! :thumbs:

Kittyfang-the funny thing is I have a lot of friends who immigrated to Canada and I must tell you the Canadian immigration law is much much more flexible and it gives you more options comparing to the American one. :lol: Oh well, we gotta do what we gotta do here... :P

Kittyfang-the funny thing is I have a lot of friends who immigrated to Canada and I must tell you the Canadian immigration law is much much more flexible and it gives you more options comparing to the American one. :lol: Oh well, we gotta do what we gotta do here... :P

Well, if we're denied, I guess I'll get really familiar with Canadian laws! :rofl:
