Submitted Original Documents During AOS Interview Returned In Mail!

Well,

Today I received a letter in mail from USCIS and it contained my Original Divorce deed that I had been asked to submit during the Interview since I did not had it on me. The strange thing is that the letter contained no other letter or note attached to it. Neither did I request its return. When I submitted the Divorce deed in person, I had submitted a self written translation of it. My AO did retain the Translation though. Now after a lapse of almost 3 months, I received a mail from my field office containing the divorce deed from my previous marriage. What do you guys predict is meant by it.

Weird. I'd contact the local office and ask. Get an InfoPass appointment if necessary.

I would take it as a good sign. Maybe they got what they needed. Also, maybe they only wanted to compare the copy you gave them at your interview and the original just to verify the authenticity.

Atleast now you know your case is moving.

According to the I-485 instructions if you submit original documents at their request they return them to you when they don't need them anymore. That sounds to me like you should be hearing a decision very soon. Good luck.

Thank you Kathryn41. I surely deserve a decision after such a long wait. Whatever the outcome may be. Atleast I'll have some peace of mind.
