RFE for child birth certificates

Hello,

Just received an RFE for a certified copy of my marriage certificate and birth certificates of my children. Do I need to send originals for the birth certificates?? I really don't want them to lose it and don't even know if they will send it back.

i emailed them half an hour ago and they responded right away. although I did put urgent in the topic. They said it's ok to send copies unless they specifically said originals. Oh well.
