This website is truly a God-send, and as everyone is very appreciative of advice, so are we...

We are currently in the process of initiating an application for me (UKC) to gain a Visa to move with my wife (USC) to the States. We have been helpfully advised that a DCF application is the way forward in our situation.

Although married over a year and living together in London, my wife is intending to move back to the US in December, permanently. Therefore as its October we need to get the process rolling as soon as we can. The question I really need answering is regarding what we MUST do while she is still with me, because the last thing we need is the smallest thing to hinder my move.

I have already applied for my police certificate through ACRO and anticipate that back within a few days. We were then intending to send off the I-130. My mother in law is going to be supporting us as a co-sponsor with an I-864A due to the fact neither my wife or I will be working initially and we will be living with her to begin with, and she is willing to provide us with her tax returns. So... my question is, what should I already have IN HAND before sending off our i-130.

These are some of the papers I/We have already to hand:

- police certificate (within a couple of days)

- passports and photocopies (for both of us)

- birth certificate (and copies for both of us)

- marriage certificate (and copy)

What else is a must, or advisable?? Many thanks to all!!

God Bless VJ.com!

Thank you - I saw the checklist already, just wondered if there was anything else recommended to include. :)

You're not suppose to include anything that isn't on the list. They will RFE if they want further info.
