hey guys. one question for everyone. I just sent in my I-129f package for K1 visa last tuesday october 6th! finally =) anyway i know that the guides here say that it normally takes 2-3 weeks before we receive the NOA1. However it seems that most people on this forum have gotten theres within 1 week? just wondering if anyone had any feedback on this? Should i call the office to find out? I do have delivery confirmation that they received it the next day after i sent it. guess i'll just have to wait a bit longer =) thanks for your help! god bless

I was able to see my case number and the date that they received it from my on-line banking when the check cleared. It took about 5 days for us to get the NOA1 but I would try checking to see if your check for the fees has cleared...

I had a reply within a week by snail mail, they cashed the check within three days. No real surprise there...check on-line at http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis on left side half way down page is "check my status" enter the code on your NOA1 letter for Csase number, poof, like magic it says "received", and my status has not changed since Aug 7th I think. I believe this is known as the three month pergatory!

Good Luck!

The NOA1 is a singularly useless document. You sent your package by delivery confiormation so you know they have it, and you used a personal check so you know they cashed your check and you can get the case number off the back of the check. The NOA1 will tell you nothing more.

When you receive your NOA1 it will list a "received" date which will be the same as the received date on your delivery confirmation. Then you will enter that date into your timeline and everyone will think you got your NOA1 within a week. See how that works. In a month or so, you will be like the rest of us. No worries.

The receipt of the useless NOA1 in your mailbox has nothing to do with the processng of your case, none whatsoever. If you NEVER receive the NOA1 it will have -0- affect on your case.
