How about an ancient Roman praenomen (this is pre-Christianity)?

Appius, Aulus, Flavius, Gaius, Gnaeus, Decimus, Lucius, Manius, Marcus, Publius, Quintus, Servius, Sextus, Spurius, Titus, Tiberius.

Some of these, such as Marcus (Mark), might be in the Bible.

How about looking at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_perso...nd_the_Qur%27an. These people are both in the Bible and the Quran. If you name your child with the Western name, you can tell your parents it is after the person in the Quran (but westernized).

The child is going to have a Western last name right? So how about going with an Indonesian first name to keep him in touch with both his roots? Or at least an Indonesian name for his middle name.
