I posted a link to this thread in the canada forum cus I know a lot of people there would be interested in this information. Hope you don't mind!

The more the better.

I just hope people call and just ask them to vote no.

safe? its full of mercury and doctors in canada are starting to refuse to give it to kids.

Sounds like typical vaccine paranoia. Thanks to a couple of idiots falsely delusional about the cause of Autism, vaccines are made out to be some sort of negative.

I don't think vaccines are bad at all.

But remember, I have a choice to take them.

Immigrants do not.

Frankly, this means nothing to me.

Aluminum is in it as well.

Australian outcry over the effects of the drug.

http://www.medindia.net/news/Outcry-in-Aus...ine-30291-1.htm

You can have side-effects from anything. Some people have serious side effects to codeine or even Tylenol, so should they just stop using it?

Even a simple flu vaccine can give you side-effects. The question is, how many people do not get any side-effects. Furthermore, how many women's lives will it save.

I couldn't agree with you more, but what about my fiancee? She doesn't have a choice in the matter.

Shouldn't she be able to decide whether or not they take that risk?

What about the effects of the drug 25 years from now?

The point is, this is a thread for those of us against it.

To try and do something about it.

Are you going to call and help?

Any immigrants coming from a 2nd or 3rd would country should have to take these vaccines. However, to be politically correct they ask for everyone to do so. Some serious diseases exist in second and third world countries. Australia for example, does not have tuberculosis or even rabies there, to name a few. So their requirements are even stricter. Why? to protect the country.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Yes, show my support for them. Migrating to another country is not a right but a privilege. You cannot expect Americans to be exposed to diseases just because foreign individuals don't want to be screened or protected.

Most of those vaccines are mandatory for kids going to college here anyway. Thankfully medical decision are still based on logic rather than personal opinions.

I didn't know cervical cancer was contagious?

Cervical cancer is due to STDs

Men get HPV too, and they are thinking of giving gardasil to men as well.

Exactly my point.

So why is the woman I am going to marry, being forced to take an STD vaccine?

Are we not going to only be with one another? We have both been tested and screened.

So that's my confusion with your logic. If they do a medical exam before their interview, is that not proof enough?

Wouldn't they be tested and screened then?

If what you say is true, then why is the law that they have the shot BEFORE they come to the states, not after.

A k1 visa applicant does not have to have the shot before coming to the states. Although I do understand that certain consulates change this, which violates the USCIS rule, but then why would the law be written like this?

Men get HPV too, and they are thinking of giving gardasil to men as well.

My mom has HPV and was diagnosed with cervical cancer. Yet my mom and my dad got married, after being high school sweethears, and have only ever been with one another.

STD??? Please. How come my dad doesn't have it then?

People get HPV through sexual contact. I would presume most people are engaging in consensual sexual contact in most cases. Therefore, the Gardisil vaccine is unlike other vaccinations because you are not contracting this illness by being coughed on our touched by a stranger. You have to engage in sexual contact in order to contract this virus.

More over, in spousal/fiancee visa applications, this vaccine makes even less sense, since presumably the partners are consenting adults and can determine whether they feel they are at risk of contracting the virus from their partner.

Thats just it!

My confusion. I agree that vaccination requirements are necessary for the privilege of coming to the US.

But to require a sexual contact STD vaccine to people who technically are supposed to only be with each other?

This is exactly why I am against this vaccine.

Excluding the why should I get it stance, what issues do you have with the vaccine?

Hundreds of thousands of Americans have already taken the vaccine with little to no issues.

Not really any actually. It seems to be a sensible choice for women if that is something that they choose. I just don't think that given the context of the virus it makes sense to demand people to take it in order to gain entry in the US.

My issue isn't based on the efficacy or safety of the vaccine rather the rationale behind it.

I dont have an issue with taking it, cause i dont have to.

My 26 year old fiancee is extremely apprehensive and does not think that she should take it because of her age.

She went to both her family doctor and the state doctor in Morocco for multiple opinions and tests and each one wrote her

a sworn statement stating they strongly advise her not having to take the drug because of the lack of data in women older than 26.

She is worried.

When she wakes up in a couple of hours, I'm sure she'll post something.

Gardasil has a 400 percent higher rate of adverse effects than another vaccines, it is associated with twice as many emergency room visits, four times as many deaths, four times as many heart attacks, seven times as many "disabled" reports and 15 times as many strokes.

Most people, who have been sexually active, have been exposed to HPV and clear the virus from their bodies within two years without any problems and are left with permanent, lifelong immunity to the HPV strains that caused infection.

13,758 people vaccinated are associated with reported side effects. Of these 13,758 reported Gardasil side effects, 7% resulted in life threatening or disabling conditions, or death itself. Total reported deaths in 2 years for gardasil has been 47 girls.

Merkic is now getting the paper work done to have this vaccine administered to young boys and men.

The reason there may not be 'specific' data is because a vaccine is more of a risk to people under 25 than those older, as their bodies are changing. I have never heard of something being safe for teenagers but a problem for adults. It's usually the opposite.

However, maybe she can apply for an exemption if it gets passed. Logically speaking and don't take this in the wrong way but I would trust the CDC of first world countries before I trust the doctors of any other status nation.
