K1 Petition is pending...

How much is enough?

With the submission of our I-129F, we submitted what the law requires and no more, but we did give a synopsis and timeline within our affidavits. In hindsight, I wish that we would have submitted more evidence. To date, our petition approval is pending, at the now infamous CSC. However, in preparation for the visa interview at the US Embassy in Manila, we have assimilated a tremendous amount of proof substantiating our relationship and intent to marry (meaning we have everything but the kitchen sink prepared for the Consular Officer). When I look at how complete the package is for the visa application, I feel like the petition should have been more developed, but we also had more time to work on gathering the information for the visa application. I'm figuring like most couples here, we all rushed to complete the application, gather our documents, and pushed forward with the petition. Hopefully, that does not come back to bite us. I know that my fiancée is concerned with what is considered a "reasonable time" to know someone before getting married, since we have not known each other more then a year. But like most of us here, "You just know when it's right!"

I just wanted to share my thoughts and a little of our story...

Hey! just relax and move forward. What's done is done!! If you need something more the USCIS will ask you for it, a small delay will most likely go unnoticed in this drawn out process. I have the same issue you do with the short relationship, however I'm not worried about it. If this draws a red flag I believe honesty will prevail. A question might be asked in the interview of why your fiancee agreed to marriage in such a short time. I think you already answered the question in your post!! good luck!!!

I agree relax... If you sent everything the 'law' requires then you are fine. Some people who sent in an over-abundance of evidence still got RFE's. If everything is signed and you have all the evidence the instructions asked for, don't worry about it!

K1 Visa Process long ago and far away...

02/09/06 - NOA1 date

12/17/06 - Married!

AOS Process a fading memory...

01/31/07 - Mailed AOS/EAD package for Olga and Anya

06/01/07 - Green card arrived in mail

Removing Conditions

03/02/09 - Mailed I-751 package (CSC)

03/06/09 - Check cashed

03/10/09 - Recieved Olga's NOA1

03/28/09 - Olga did biometrics

05/11/09 - Anya recieved NOA1 (took a call to USCIS to take care of it, oddly, they were helpful)

I received a e-mail from the CSC today that said that they had received my RFE sent on 5 July 06. They also said that the normal processing time will be shorter since my application had already been processed. My original NO1 date was 9 May 06. I consider this a good step and am glad to see this. Previously I was "touched" on 3,4,and 5 Jul. There is hope and maybe even some light at the end of the tunnel.

I also agree,,,relax... I also sent in information that was asked for... nothing more, nothing less and I was approved. I got engaged in the same time frame as you (also in the Philippines) and it wasn't a problem. When you get to the interview stage then you might want to throw in everything but the kitchen sink as far as showing evidence of an ongoing relationship. From this point on you might consider saving/documenting the evidence you will need later.
