Hello,

Our case is now at the NVC stage, and I am gathering everything to send in. My question pertains to the marriage certificate. In PA where we were married, after we got our license at the court house we were given a blank marriage certificate which the officiant filled out on our wedding day and gave to us, and the other part she sent in. I sent the copy of the marriage certificate (the one filled out by the officiant and given to us on our wedding day) to USCIS for our I-130 and we were approved with no RFE...however I was told and read online that this is not actually what they really wanted...so for NVC, should I send in the original marriage certificate (filled out by the officiant - the same that we used for the I-130, or shoudl I send in "certfication of excerpts from marriage license record state of Pennsylvania county of mercer" that i got from the court house and has the seal on it?...We never used this for USCIS, but I thought we were going to get an RFE so i went and got a few of these certified copies from the court house where we got our license.

Thank you so much

I'd send in the one that you sent to USCIS (what's good for the goose..as they say). But if you're concerned about it, why not send both?

Good luck.

Send the original certificate, of which you sent the photocopy to USCIS. I ended up buying the actual certificate from the state capitol. The certificate it nothing special. Both names a typed. I was expecting fancy writing and nice design.

Just buy the actual "certificate", just to cover your back.

Best of Luck. Best wishes. Thank you.
