Go to the next Canadian embassy and apply for a passport ASAP. Once you have it, take step 2.

I agree. I dont think your embassy would deny you a passport just because you overstayed or went out of status.

Actually, I have to correct myself. I don't know why I didn't think of that, but when I renewed my expired German passport in Los Angeles in 2007, they wanted to see my GC. Had I not had one, or some form of unexpired visa, they would only have issued me some form of documentation allowing me to leave the US, but not a new passport.

Although I have no idea why foreign embassies kind of enforce US immigration policy, it seems to be the case for many nations, if not all.

I don't know what the Canadian embassy will or won't do but -

you need at least government-issued ID to do the AOS interview. You might actually need a passport, I'm not sure.

From what I've read, it seems that Birth Certificate is enough for government type ID. I could be wrong tho.

A BC can be used to prove citizenship (and foreign status). It will not prove identity since anyone could walk in holding your BC claiming to be you. The I-485 states that a copy of your passport needs to be submitted. Other places on USCIS' website state that a current, valid national ID card from your country can be used, as well.

What photo ID do you have? Can it be renewed on the internet (some locations have renewal of ID's on the internet - the state of TN allows residents to renew their DL on line)?

I have a medical card (with picture), but it is expired.

The I-485 says something about a passport if you came here on a visa, but since I didn't, I should be able to just show them the two ID I showed at the border. The medical card (now expired), and the BC.

They may be able to help you get a current ID.

I will have to call and see what they can do for me. But I'm hoping I won't need the passport, it would be a huge delay.

Canada is very good for expediting passports when necessary. If you need them urgently, you can get them in as little as 48 hours. (Though expect to pay a bunch more.)

The thing is that I did have one when I came trough. Canadian Medical Card, but it's expired tho. You'd think that, if I'm adjusting my status after being out of status, it would make sense that I don't have any other IDs.

Plus, I will be providing like 3pictures with the package.... Or, I could always wait till I receive the EAD and use that to get State ID... Can the deliver EAD without biometrics?

No, the EAD requires biometrics.

You really should contact the Canadian embassy/consulate and see if they will issue a passport. It will really makes things easier.
