Here is a good one for everyone!!!!!!! My wife received her green card on December 2, 2005 after being transferred to CSC. Well we received an Interview letter on December 26 For February 14, 2006 (Today of all days) after she has already been approved. So I called the immigration hotline that there must be some mistake but they insisted that it would be in my best interest to go to this interview even though my wife has already been approved and has here green card. To top it off I went through all of the work of re-copying all of our documents to show proof of the relationship.

So we get there this morning and get called up to were they do the interviews and sure enough the lady walks up that was going to do the interview and says that her record shows that my wife has a green card. After that she just asked to see her green card and passport while we were standing in the hallway by the elevators, walks away, comes back in 5 minutes and says she is sorry for the mistake, and there is no need for an interview. I asked her if she at least wanted to see some pictures from the wedding after I dragged about 20 pounds of albums with me. Of course she said there is no need, apologized again, and said to not forget to re-apply for her 10 year green card 3-month's before this one expires, and have a good day.

Wish they could have told me earlier before we went through all the trouble of getting things ready again and having to stress for the last month. Oh well, Good thing everything is done and if anyone runs into this scenario of having to go to an interview after obtaining a green card, just take your green card and passport, that is enough for them.

Supposedly this is the first time this immigration officer had this type of situation and her supervising officer didn't understand how this happened but we are both thankful that this is all done for the next two years! Good Luck everyone!!!!!!

If you hadn't gone, they would have screwed-up and denied you even though you already had the green card.

LOL
