im singing "rain rain go away, come again antother day" lol.. its been raining nonstop since yesterday..

im so glad i shot hookie tues and roger and i went to the aboretum.. it was such a beautiful day and this lady at our new church gave us free tickets (always nice)..Roger kept saying, "you said its a GARDEN??".. i said.. "look man, its FREE!!!!!!!!" but turned out he really enjoyed it..we had a lil picnic on the grounds and of course had the camera striking a pose..

OKAY, what i could catch

no nat, they didn't go to the TX/OU game.. not much into college football.. they went that sunday, the last day just for the rides.. girl for half my life.. i didn't even realize other things went on at the fair LOL we always go STRAIGHT to the rides!!

she is just 9 or 10 right?? im sure my kids said (to themselves) they hate me many a times.. cuz i did or said something they didn't like.long as she is respectful, she really don't have to like you do she???

nobody likes discipline..(not even grownups.. dyam boss got me missing vj all day ) .. i know she hurt ur feelings, but don't take it to heart.. i have seen my kids write some pretty hurtful things about each other, but they love each other to death.. it will be alright.

Why is this week dragging? it should be Friday...

Is it me or is this the norm for every week now? Just dragging. Yet the year seems to be flying. I am so not feeling work at all anymore.

I hear you, Finesse. I have a 3 day weekend coming with plans. I am so ready for tomorrow at 4 pm to get here. This is torture.

Me too - and we just found out that the President is landing behind my office at 3 pm tomorrow - which means traffic will be a byatch if I don't get outta here before that -

I have two papers to write, laundry to do, and have to be on a 7 am flight on Sat outta JFK - which means I need to leave by 4 am - Not a CLUE of when I am going to get everything done!

you been waiting since the 13th to get the visa? Geesh I understand your fustration, my fiance and I have our interview on the 10th of Nov. I am trying to determine when to purchase his ticket as well. As much as I want my man here and I am sure you do too The purse is looking really nice LOL.

Saturday I am going to a baseball card show and meet some old players with a friend of mine....the guy I took to your wedding, Dillon.

Sunday I have to sell beer and brats outside the football stadium and then we are heading to the lake in the late afternoon for a quick overnight trip.

I'm a little antsy. Have to always have something to do. Some days I wish I knew what the tv looked like. I guess winter will be more for that.

I think I understand completely what you mean Dillon. And no, you don't sound like you were evil & uncaring prior to motherhood....just like the rest of us child-free people, a little more self-centered or self-involved. Parenthood is one of the most selfless things a person can do so I get it. I just also understand the other side of that & get what people mean (since I'm one of them) when they say they'd be okay not having kids.

But would you still feel ok say 10 or 20 years down the line when you don't have any.....

JQ--mi neva kno how yuh manage on bc w/o him knowing. He knows that right now I haven't been on the pill for some time for health reasons, but he also knows that I want to go back on them at some point (if I am cleared to by the dr). He knows what medicines I take and for what. Always been like that. Since I've known him we've gone back & forth about the bc issue, and especially after we got married, but in the end he always just drops it cause he realizes that the debate is really just going to go in circles. For as much as he wants to have a baby, he also knows that it might come easier for him if he doesn't push. We both have goals laid out for ourselves for the next year or so, so hopefully we'lll be able to stick to the plan. Don't get me wrong. I don't have any kids yet (besides Kingston ), and I can't wait to be a parent---and I know he will be a great daddy! I recognize the awesome responsibility that comes with raising a healthy, stable, God-loving, well-adjusted, happy, beautiful child, & I'm definitely up for the task and the challenge...I'm just not looking forward to stretchy skin and even worse mood swings than what I have now! (and neither is hubby for that matter! we often joke about where he is gonna live once i get pregnant, cause i can only imagine the swings due to the hormone changes!) I apologize to him NOW on occasion for what is to come! I want to keep my sexy body! Selfish-yes. But true! Ahhhhh.....

I feel exactly as you do about the whole thing Mrs. P (except maybe the 'can't wait' part....I can). Hubby has already anticipated what kind of a monster I'm going to be when I'm pregnant as well. I think I've already done a little pre-apologizing to him too! LOL!

All I want to say is best luck with getting preg 1luv and prayers. It will happen. Enjoy alone time before it happens. I was miserable and sick through out my whole pregnancy. Hubby and I now agree that one is enough and maybe in the next 3 to 4 years we will think about another one. I guess it is the cost daycare, diapers and so on. I love her but if she was my one and only I would be just fine.

See! This is exactly what I'm talking about! Pregnancy is not all happiness & glowing for every woman. And after I have one (unless we get twins), I'll be stopping there.

oh i plan to have honkey tonk badonk a donk played at the reception and cotton eyed joe......all 30 of my guests will be linbe dancing right along side me.....i cant wait to see the looks on the faces of richards guests hahahahahaha

It's funny you mention the 'cotton-eyed joe' song cause we went to a small rodeo in my parents' town on Sunday & they played that song a couple times during the events & hubby LOVES it! He wants to get that song now so he can play it often!

Well, besides about a year of what I would refer to as a non-sexy body (IMO) I think I have a better body post-babies then I ever had before them.

This reminded me of a couple weekends ago when we went to Great America (amusement park) again. I rode this stand-up coaster where the seat locks at your crotch height but you have to make sure it's comfortable before they lock you in. I was next to some younger peeps & the one guy was real tall. When we were getting off the ride, the tall guy says, "ooohhh, I squished my lovely lady lumps!" I had to laugh!

That's good 1luv! She's just adjusting & even though it's hard, try not to take it too personal...she just doesn't know how to express herself enough to say what's really bothering her. All of this is pretty new to her & far from what she's used to. You are right in continuing to discipline though....she might not like it now, but she'll be grateful for it many years down the road when she realizes she was raised right.

Hey Ladies!!!!

There are just certain standards I expect from my kids. Now I was a very smart mouth kid. I did the mummbling and stomping but I never in my life told me mom I hated her. Now did I say it when she was not around yes but in front of her no. Nor did I write it down. I guess I was too scared I would get caught and I expect the same from my kids. I betta not ever in my life hear them say they hate me nor shall I see it written down or in their mouth I go. I still believe in respect thy mother and thy father. I’m always shocked when I hear people say they hit their mom or cussed them out. I'm triple the size of my mother but I still respect her and I'm scared of her in a way. Just the other day I was upset and I was kind of yelling at my mom all she had to do was give me the side eye and my voice dropped four notches. One time we got into it and she said Dada don’t make me come over there. I hung up the phone with her and locked all my doors and told the kids they better not open the door for their nana. Now any broad on the street bring it but my momma some lady the is wayyy thinner and smaller than me? Nope Never!!!

So after all this my point was a child should never tell their parents they hate them rather they mean it or not. My kids aren’t even allowed to tell me to shut up. If I’m joking with them they can say be quiet but they know they cannot tell me to shut up.

Stepmoms HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!

my stepdaughter wrote in her notebook that she does not like me because I disciplined her. Now her dad gave me the permission if she is out of line I can. She was doing good up until a couple of months ago. I saw this and I flipped!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I punished her by writing 200 lines and no tv for 1 week. I did not tell her dad cuz she is scared of what HE will do!!!!!!!! What should I do???? Was I wrong??????????

Ok 1luv...I'm gonna play the devil's advocate/therapist role for just a minute. I don't understand why you punished her so severely for her actions? The problem that I have with this situation is that your stepdaughter has a right to her feelings, and you essentially punished her for having feelings. We are all entitled to feel different ways about things and/or people. To punish her for not liking you, I think, is a little much. You said that she wrote this in her notebook. She wasn't yellilng it at you or anything, she simply wrote down how she felt. Instead of punishing her, I think it would have been more therapeutic for you to have the conversation w/ her about why she feels like she doesn't like you. You could even have it with her father present. And start out the conversation with an understanding that no one is going to be disrespectful during the conversation, and everyone will at least be heard. She might also come around if she sees (and hears) that you all having a good relationship is very important to you, which is why you were so upset. Your feelings were hurt. I saw in a later post that you all talked. Which is good. Just remember that a huge part of relationship building is being able to trust. And she's going to have to trust that she is allowed to have her feelings (even if it's not what we would hope), as long as she is not disrespectful and expresses them in an appropriate manner. Once she begins to feel like she can trust that you will accept all the parts of her, then I can guarantee you that things will begin to get better. It's a work in progress, and there a probably a thousand other things that she's going to do to piss you off at some point. Just make sure that the punishment fits the crime. And do everything u can to keep the lines of communication open between all of you. Even though teenagers act like they don't care about stuff like that, they really do! Good luck to you all.

1luv..I am glad that you guys talked it out. Although I believe that there are times when the child is not going to like you, like what you say, like what you do. It is your job to mold them and discipline them. I know it is hard to hear or see when they say they hate you...I remember saying it under my breath to my mother many times. I feel you are doing your job if they have those feelings. I always tell my daughter that she doesn't have to like me and if she doesn't like the job I am doing with her she can take it up with my boss...GOD.
